The food was great—especially the Korean BBQ, which I really enjoyed. The service was good overall, but I wish we had a bit more attention from the waiter. At one point I wanted to order more food, but the waiter wasn’t around. I’d recommend ordering everything you want right away. Still, the food itself was very good and worth it.

The best Korean food I had in the Bay Area. Great portion for the BBQ, every dish is so flavorful, I absolutely love everything including the free small dishes.

Just be aware it’s kind of hard to find parking in the residential area.

I have visited here many times, usually when I am in the area where I am craving for some good Korean food. Most of the times when I arrive there is a wait with multiple parties ahead of me, but I do not mind since I am a very patient person. The food and service is good here, so I understand why it is always busy and packed here. You can choose to have either their Korean barbecue dishes or their traditional authentic Korean items. Their menu consists of shareable items, soups, stir fry dishes, and much more delicious items. The staffs here are welcoming, well trained and understanding where I never encountered any issues during any of my visits. If you are not in the mood in waiting then I recommend you making a reservation if available. I highly recommend this place to all Korean food enthusiasts, to all Korean barbecue lovers, or if you just want to try something new. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Han Il Kwan. It’s very busy, and will come with a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. It’s best with a big group, as you can get a lot of variety that way.

The meats were all absolutely excellent, and the banchan was delicious. We also got the japchae which I loved. The service is also excellent despite them being very busy!

Hugely recommended, would for sure come back!

We were in the mood for Korean BBQ so we stopped by here. We caught them in the busiest time and had to wait a bit.
The meat for the grill is definitely overpriced considering the few options you get and the portion size they give you. All the kimchis are really good and I can say we had a good time.

4.5 stars, the servers were very helpful with recommendations and present when needed. The food was delicious, some of the best Korean BBQ I’ve had. Definitely would eat again. The area is really difficult to navigate in a car and there is no parking. Also there is a very small wait room.

The food is soooo good! Too popular so there is always a wait. Beef intestine is chewy so I really like it.

Went on a trip to San Francisco for 4 day and crave some Korean food and went here to go dine. The food was ok. Kimchi pork tofu stew but no pork in there, the meat was so little. As we eating here the waiter keep looking at us as if they are rushing us. The price are very pricey for portion u get. did not enjoy the food. But they did give us complementary drink. After we paid, and some of my friend are still eating, the waiter came and told us to leave. And I had to tell the waiter “ can u give us 5 more min” and she nod and left. Very rude and will
Not recommend this place to anyone. The worst experience.

To me this is hands down the best kbbq + Korean restaurant in SF. I’ve tried wooden charcoal, brothers, muguboka, yakiniQ, I’ve tried them all nothing comes close to Han Il Kwan. The banchans are so fresh and taste so good. The Galbi is not too sweet not too fatty but fatty enough. Their cold noodle with beef is spectacular. Just everything about Han Il Kwan is so consistent and so enjoyable. It’s my repeat spot – the only reason I’d go somewhere else is because it’s closed Tuesday / Wednesday.

My favorite Korean restaurant in SF!

It’s usually popular. Luckily, it wasn’t busy during dinner on a Monday so we were able to get seated right away.

The food was so authentic. The tofu soup was good. The galbijjim was awesome!!! And the pancake was delicious as well.

Service was good and fast. Plus they served a whole steamed egg with every table.

Cons: Parking was so tough near the restaurant. Expect a wait. If you’re willing to wait and find parking, highly recommended
