Great place for lunch in University City. Had the spring rolls and dumplings for appetizers. Main course was the salt and pepper shrimp with house fried rice. Han Dynasty is popular place among the students.

Was looking for authentic spicy Chinese food, and heard good things about this place, but a bit disappointed after trying. Will not come back for the price, portion or the taste.

The manager at the University City location is amazing. I spoke to him after getting an order delivered to the hospital. Someone accidentally left the sauce out of my bag. He promised to make it up to me if I ever came by the restaurant. Boy, did he make it up to me! We happened to leave the hospital and go to the restaurant on his birthday. The manager took excellent care of us and he deserves to be celebrated; great manager at university city and awesome food.

Hearing about this place from so many UPenn staff and students, I was excited to give them a try. I stopped by on several occasions- two weekdays and two weekends- to give myself multiple opportunities to review.
The food was generally tasty, though like the service, it was inconsistent. I received different portions of the same dishes for the same cost, and their service is a gamble of whether you will get a server who cares versus one who thinks you should be grateful for their presence. The best thing about the restaurant is the atmosphere. It’s trendy and looks cool, looking its best at night for dinner.
For the price, I can see why students would like it. But it would be great if they can reel in a more consistent food portion and presentation and service standard.

We went there yesterday and were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived! The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was wonderful — cozy, friendly, and full of good energy. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Times have changed. We must remember not to take things for granted in our lives, like Han Dynasty. You used to be quite the staple for Dan Dan noodles. With the price increase, my heart plummeted, and what put the final nail in the coffin was the noodles. Why did you change the noodles and the amount of meat? Overall, portions have decreased, and my presence shall cease.
What was once home is no more. Goodbye, Dan Dan noodles.

I love this Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia! It’s authentic Szechuan cuisine, and the food is spicy but they’ll adjust the spice level to your liking. It’s reasonably priced with a super friendly staff, and the portions are generous. Plus, they offer free rice and tea with any order. It’s just perfect!

We enjoyed the food. Some dish might be quite oily but they were warm and fresh. Nice service.

They increase the prices when you order online for delivery rather than pickup which is kind of lame since they don’t even use their own driving staff. Paid $50 for 3 things and all 3 things were just ok – chicken fried rice, dan dan noodles, and chicken dumplings. The flavors you want out of these dishes were secondary to the flavor of salt and didn’t love the texture of the chicken in the fried rice. It was ready quickly for dinnertime hours on a Friday night and I appreciated the option to not include utensils with the order. Overall it was not worth the $50, unsure if we would order from here again.
