This was my favorite halal spot. I would drive all the way from queens to Hicksville just to get food from this truck. They never cease to amaze me in both customer service and serving delicious food.

But ever since the truck moved from Hicksville to queens the food fall nothing short than terrible! The white sauce, the food and the service!

I’m greatly disappointed and sadden by the outcome of my favorite halal food spot that serves the best halal food in NY (in my opinion).

The silver lining is that the restaurant is still available in Hicksville and that’s where I’ll be going from now on.

I’m serious, the food in the restaurant is a thousand times better than the one served in the food truck!!

Come on guys we gotta fix this!!! I’m a loyal customer. I don’t eat at any other halal food spot people.

Got a combo over rice for $8. Not a lot of food for the money but the food tasted very good. I don’t know if it was hunger but I was not expecting the food to taste as good as it did. If you ignore the portion size, this may be some of the best halal food you could get in NY for $8. Some of these reviews talking about “empty platters” though, I could definitely see where they’re coming from.

Got the mix over rice, the chicken was very juicy and moist. Didn’t like the lamb as much but I believe if it was cooked on the spot it would’ve been much better instead of being precooked. The rice lacked flavor; a bit more seasoning to the rice or sauce would’ve really taken it to the next level. But nonetheless it’s a great portion. I wished the meat was chopped little more but that’s just preference.

New Update – Hubby and I had separate halal tray with drink , mine was overflowing with food , fresh hot and the portion was very generous, good for sharing or leftovers.

Not Recommend, Recently a couple of times I noticed the quality of the food served was not cooked well , whether I ordered a platter of rice or lamb / chicken wrap, the last time I ordered , I got very sick and had to throw the rest of my food out , even as Im writing this review my stomach hurts, it quality use to be much better, why aren’t there any sinks to wash hands at least. I will avoid buying from any carts for now on . I think they use old cooking oil, .

*Update*

Another day with this Amazing food!
I added a second photo to show that

This review is done by a South Indian taste buds on 9/25/22 Your experience may differ.

I have been enjoying halal food for years, predominantly in Queens and Brooklyn. There are two types of halal in my opinion. One that is more Asian Indian style and one that is middle eastern style.

This cart is the latter. The difference is the rice they use and flavor of the food. Indian styles rice is usually more yellowish and flavorful. The meat is more spiced and cooked with more onions and sometimes you can request food to be cooked more spicier in which case they may add more ingredients like green chileas and spices.

I visited this cart because it was close to my house and had many good reviews. When I arrived I saw four halal carts. This cart was getting all the business. Yes, I made the right choice I thought to myself!

I looked at the cart personal. Not Asian based. I asked for the food to be made more spicy, lady shrugged her shoulder and said she will put more hot sauce. The food came out within two minutes of me asking for three combos of chicken and lamb over rice, a red flag popped in head.

I had the lamb over rice. The lamb was cut into big chunks and tasted like it was steamed with no flavor. Had they cut it smaller and suauted it longer it might have had more flavor. The white sauce was too tart and no parsley, dill, or other ingredients incorporated in it. The hot sauce was hot, with really no flavor. The rice was an off white color and bland. The salad is just mainly lettuce, no tomatoes and no big slices of onion.

My family did not enjoy the food. My wife can cook better lamb frozen from Costco cooked with Sazon seasoning, she uses basmatti rice and some spices to make the rice yellow and her white sauce is even better.

Been coming here for years. Their chicken over rice w/pita is classic. $6 plate will fill you up for the rest of the day. Depends on how much quantity of white sauce, hot sauce , green sauce, BBQ sauce you want to put. Enjoy!

We had chicken over rice and lamb gyro. They were delicious, and each came with a soda of our choice. (They had an option of water)

If I could rate this cart a 0, God help me I would! AVOID COMING HERE!

Terrible customer service! The staff at this halal cart were incredibly rude and disrespectful. Not only did they mess up my order, but they also refused to acknowledge their mistake or offer any kind of apology. Definitely won’t be returning here.
