Went for my husband’s birthday. The decor and lighting was lovely and warm. Since it was our first time there the waiter explained the menu and took time to provide recommendations. Drinks were refreshing. Food was fresh. We had the lamb hummus, beef skewers, cucumber salad and the chocolate nemesis for dessert. Definitely recommended this place for a nice meal.

The mushroom skewers were phenomenal! So delicious. It is kind of pricey considering the quantities, but the flavor of each dish was very nice.

However, there were not many vegan options, many were veganizable at least. But the non-vegan dishes almost they do not have veggies at all! Very unhealthy some of them.

They need to have a more plant-based focused, considering they called themselves “modern” cuisine. The future is eating plants, for healthy, climate, and ethical reasons, and leaving animals out of our plates. Also, it would bring more people since it would be way more inclusive!

How is the place only a 4?! It was recommended to us by two friends. we came for the first time and so glad we did! It was so delicious. Rachel was our server and she was so nice and professional, and made our evening wonderful!. She explained some of the highlights of the menu, told us about the non-alcoholic drinks (they were awesome-perfect for non drinkers and our teen) . We had the branzino with the perfectly crisp skin and moist flesh over a bed of fennel and it was so good. I usually don’t like fennel but this compliment was lovely. My daughter and I love octopus and got it, and it was so well cooked. My wife doesn’t usually like octopus but said this was the first time she’d really enjoyed it. And the lamb kebabs ( kibeh?) were grilled just right. The Israeli salad hummus and falafel appetizers were so good! And the desserts were a perfect ending. The petite beurre was DIVINE!

Shout out to even the servers who were so professional and kind.
We sat outside and it was so lovely, a little cool, windy and the environment was great. Even our hard to please teen couldn’t stop taking about it.

It was an absolutely lovely evening for a birthday celebration! Thanks y’all

Hamsa (Houston) delivered. The sampler with 5 dishes is the move—each one tasted distinct and packed with flavor. We followed that with the spicy experience (highly recommend if you like heat), then chicken skewers and beef + shrimp. Every dish felt intentional, not just “good,” but memorable. The grilled pear dessert was a surprisingly perfect, not-too-sweet ending. Can’t wait to come back.

We went to Hamsa to celebrate my husband’s birthday which also happened to be Valentine’s weekend. The food was excellent but the real gem was our server, Brian J. He was patient with us, provided detailed explanations to our questions, options on how to enjoy all Hamsa has to offer and introduced us to an Arak mixed drink- which was unique and incredibly delicious. We will be back!

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Hamsa!

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. Our server Michelle was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. The floor manager Jordan Hooks was also incredibly accommodating and made us feel truly welcome.

We started with the lamb hummus, amba pickled vegetables, and harissa carrots — all bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The pita bread, fresh and warm right out of the oven, was some of the best I’ve had anywhere.

For mains, the chicken thigh skewer was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned, while the lamb Lachmagun was absolutely excellent — rich, savory, and full of depth.

And then… dessert! The Malabi was outstanding, the Petiber tiramisu was delightful, but the chocolate halva completely stole the show — especially paired with a cup of hot Turkish coffee.

Every dish was a hit, the service was top-notch, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been to Hamsa three times and every time the food always hits. This time I finally took photos of the food we ordered. I realized that they change out a few menu items every year, but the quality of the items staying still remain delicious. The lamb hummus is so rich and pairs so well with pita bread, and the octopus is the most tender bite I’ve had at a restaurant. Ribeye skewers and chicken thigh skewers are equally as tender and flavorful. The cauliflower couscous was such a pleasant/refreshing surprise. Everything was so amazing and the amount we ordered was perfect for 4 people!

My experience at Hamsa was incredible! The food is visually stunning, but the medley of spices is what really moved me. Do NOT sleep on the flavorful smoked baba ganoush! Pro tip- ask for some zhug with your meal. Thank me later.
But truly the best part of my dining experience at Hamsa was the quality of our service. Our server, Alexander, made us feel completely comfortable. He answered all questions I had about the menu and what flavors pair well together. He made additional recommendations that really showcased how expansive their vegetarian options are. Jordan Hooks, the manager, was awesome. He made sure our experience was unforgettable. He gave us a walk through of the desserts and we talked about the depth of chocolate flavor in the Chocolate Nemesis… which we ordered two of… and it was the best choice.
10 out of 10. Let Jordan and Alex upgrade your next special event!

Generally described as attentive and friendly.
Knowledgeable when it comes to menu items, which is good since some dishes are new to many diners.

I recently visited Hamsa, an Israeli restaurant in Houston, and I have to say—it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The space is stylish yet comfortable, and the bar area adds a fun and lively vibe without being too loud.

Now let’s talk about the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation was beautiful. Whether you’re familiar with Israeli cuisine or trying it for the first time, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Our server was friendly and attentive.
Hamsa is a great spot for both small gatherings and larger parties.

Overall, I highly recommend giving Hamsa a try. It’s a unique gem in Houston, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
