The meat was absolutely amazing — honestly one of the best chicken breasts I’ve ever had. I work out and eat chicken breast regularly, so I really pay attention to quality, and this one was perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor.

This Armenian restaurant in Glendale truly serves some of the best charcoal-grilled шашлык (khorovats) I have ever tasted. If you love real meat cooked the traditional way over hot coals, with natural smoke and authentic flavor, this place is absolutely perfect.
Everything here tastes fresh, homemade, and high quality. The lamb шашлык is incredible — tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor without any strong smell or excess fat. Each piece is perfectly grilled with a beautiful crust on the outside and soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture inside. You can really taste the freshness of the meat.
The beef is just as impressive. It’s cooked exactly right — not dry, not tough, but very juicy and flavorful. The marinade is simple and natural, not overloaded with spices, which lets the true taste of the meat shine through. That’s how real Armenian barbecue should be.
And the lula kebab deserves special praise. Super juicy, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. It holds together beautifully on the skewer and has that classic smoky charcoal flavor that’s hard to find nowadays.
What I love most is that everything is cooked on real charcoal, not gas. You can smell and taste the smoke in every bite. It feels authentic, traditional, and made with care.
Definitely a 5-star experience. I will keep coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates real Armenian cuisine and amazing grilled meat.

This spot is fire. Fantastic food and portions are huge. Owner was super friendly to me, wouldn’t have mattered if he wasn’t because the food was on point. The Lula Kebab was as good as I’ve ever had, I’ll be getting the pork ribs next time. Plenty of parking, cash only, take it to go.

Best beef Lula and pork iqibir I’ve had in LA so far. Service will remind you of your grumpy aunt back in the 90’s, and it’s cash only, but it’s part of the experience and it’s all worth it because of the food you get. Always makes me feel like I’m back in Yerevan of my youth.

The best barbecue here. I don’t live around Glendale but I drive half an hour to pick up dinner from here. There are lots of good barbecue around but beef barbecue at Hamlet’s kitchen is best I ever taste it in my life. Also I want to make sure to tell everyone that I am not related or friends with the owner or with any employees, and I don’t get any special services.
