We made our reservations and arrived about 10 mins early. Checked in with the host and were greeted with a “Happy Anniversary to you both!” …and got seated right away.
Upon ordering our waitress brought us 2 glasses of champagne, welcomed us and AGAIN we were greeted with “Happy Anniversary, we are glad to have you with us this evening!”
She was very polite and made our dinner very nice. Service was everything we could have asked for, top tier!
We started with the cauliflower fritters (the dipping sauce was to die for) My husband ordered a filet and I went with the double cut bone-in pork chop. Everything was cooked AMAZING.
Over all a wonderful experience and we will definitely make reservations again at Hamilton’s ..when vising St. Louis!
The service was good once we ordered. The food was good but not as described by others. The steaks overall were overdone based on our orders (medium rare came out as a very soft pink) but worse than that the dry aged steak tasted no different than normal steak. It was tendony and relatively tough.
The drinks were good and the atmosphere was good but probably would have been better if we were seated outside.
Overall a decent dining experience but there are better options in the area.
I ordered the crab cakes and really enjoyed them they were flavorful and cooked well. My steak came out just the way I asked, and the sides were delicious too. The brussels sprouts and bread pudding were my favorites.
Service was steady and helpful the whole night. Even though the place was busy, I never felt ignored or rushed.
Overall, it was a really good meal, and I would definitely come back. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a solid steakhouse in St. Louis.
When we realized it was past the time of our reservation, we approached the hostess stand and were told our table was ready. From that point on, the service left much to be desired. It felt as though the staff could not have cared less that we were customers. Oddly, the representatives from the nonprofit Hamilton was supporting that evening (26% of proceeds were being donated—we hadn’t known but were happy to support!) were friendlier than the restaurant staff.
We ordered five appetizers, four entrées, a shared dessert, and several cocktails. We were also celebrating two milestones, which were noted on our reservation—but never acknowledged. If you’re going to ask, why not follow through?
The food, thankfully, was outstanding. We had the sea bass, pork shank, T-bone, and the mushroom steak. Appetizers included scallops, pork belly, tuna, soup, and the charcuterie board—all delicious. The bread pudding and dessert drinks were also fantastic.
Sadly, the service didn’t come close to matching the quality of the food—or the prices. No table touch-ins, no attention to the crumb-covered table, no sense of hospitality. Just… blah. I really wish the service had lived up to the experience the menu promised.
Enjoying life 1 sip, 1 bite and 1 small town at a time! Explore everything!
The food was tasty, the meat cooked to taste, we tried many of their sides, they were all delicious.
While our server, Wonder, was knowledgeable, friendly, kind, welcoming, with a sweet humble disposition, not everyone was friendly, the bar tender, other employees at the bar, and even a member of management could work on a more welcoming or friendly attitude, if you are ever in St Louis, and eat at Hamiltons, do ask for Wonder by name.
The decor takes you back, dim lighting adds to the steak house feel and mood. It feels cozy but cold with so many employees missing that welcoming smile!
I was not completely wowed. Disposition always makes a difference! Did enjoy the food, however. Wonder, thank you for the positive impact you made on the overall experience!
Love their bourbon selection. They had a bacon infused old fashioned. It didn’t disappoint. Only tweak would have been to serve it with candied bacon.
We ordered the scallops for the appetizer. They were great.
Steaks were fantastic. Side of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were also good. Creamed spinach was definitely cheesy. But delicious.
It’s definitely on the list for a great restaurant that isn’t a chain. Great atmosphere and service all around.
