Pub style restaurant for Christmas night dinner. Guinness beef stew wirh mashed potatoes was good, not sure the bread was necessary or what was on the menu. The roasted Brussels sprouts were delicious, cooked and seasoned very well. Seemed to have a limited liquor selection

I had high hopes for Hamilton. I’ve lived in the area for a while, and have heard good things about this place. Unfortunately, my friend and I were pretty disappointed by our experience.
Firstly, our waitress was super nice, but pretty green. Service was really slow, and my friends drink had lipstick (that was not hers) on it.
The real issue for me was when the food came out. We both got the appetizer chicken tender ($16 each) and we split a side of fries ($6). What came out was nothing short of abysmal. The wings were not hot, came with a measly 2 carrot/celery sticks, and the side of fries was a joke. I think having $16 tenders and $6 fries would be acceptable, but as you can see for yourself in the picture, these were nothing special.
I would not recommend this place to anyone unless it were for a drink. Don’t waste your time or money.

I really enjoy this bar especially on a week night when it’s not full and loud and their outdoor section in the back is great for summer! The food is good and dependable bar food. It can sometimes be hit or miss but for the most part I think the food is better than most reviews depict. Will definitely be coming back here this summer!

It was a solid pub. I visited on a Thursday, and it was quite full. The location is great—conveniently close to the T station. The food was good enough for a bar. However, they could use more staff at the bar. With only two bartenders covering, it didn’t seem sufficient, and they were too busy to attend to everyone efficiently.

Tried this place a few times to watch some football games and hoped each trip back would be better. The space is pretty big and there are a lot of beers on offer.
Unfortunately, the consistent downside is the service. There are never enough people working, and the folks tending the bar seemed a bit clueless and disorganized. Despite the large number of TVs, the staff were managing about 20 remotes and could not figure out which one went with each TV.

Hamilton Restaurant & Bar in Brookline is a true gem! I had lunch there with my son and we were both thoroughly impressed. The steak tips were perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Paired with fresh, crisp broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes, it was a satisfying and comforting meal. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel right at home. It was a great experience from start to finish, and I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

Delicious food! The table was narrow and slightly difficult with two people sitting directly across from one another but it was a charming tavern with fun themed cocktails. The pretzels and fried pickles with beer cheese were all amazing and the french dip sliders and fries were fantastic. Highly recommend. They did ask if we had a reservation so maybe call ahead- we didn’t have one but were seated immediately anyway.

The servers and other staff were lovely, and clearly dealing with systemic problems beyond their control. The drinks are great, but the food was pretty rough, with many items including fries out of stock pretty early on a busy Friday night. The Impossible Burger (as listed on the menu) was a generic veggie burger, and was very dry. With two servers on a Friday night, the staff of Hamilton was trying their best to accommodate and get food and drink out in a timely manner, but both times we have been here, it has been evident that purchasing and management have dropped the ball severely, with main food and drink items out of stock and wait times for food and drink being extremely long for the prices on the menu.

My first time at Hamilton Restaurant & Bar in Brookline was unfortunately my last. My girlfriend & I thought it would be fun to grab a drink and a sweet treat after dinner, so we headed over to Hamilton. We were greeted by a kind, young woman in sweatpants and a cropped shirt who ended up being the hostess. We were sat almost immediately given that the restaurant appeared to be fairly empty, but were quickly informed that the team was understaffed as a heads up. As someone who worked in customer service, specifically in restaurants, I understand how arduous & tiring it is to work a shift with insufficient staffing. However, my girlfriend & I each ordered one drink and a dessert to share. They have one dessert option, a mocha cake, which although large in size, tasted underwhelming. It was pretty dry and tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for a few weeks. The issue was not the dessert, however; it was the drinks. Not to be dramatic, but the drinks were quite literally undrinkable. We had an immediate visceral reaction to the taste, which we could only compare to dish soap mixed with sour fruit. We were tasting nothing listed in the ingredients on the menu and unfortunately, were not going to be able to finish the drinks that we forced ourselves to choke back for a few sips. You could barely tell that we touched the drinks. After our waitress approached us for only the second (and final) time we saw her that night, we mentioned that the drinks didn’t taste quite like what we were expecting (if it was not obvious already by the full glasses on the table). Not only did she not acknowledge that we barely touched our beverages, but we were not offered any sort of alternative, questioned what about the drink we did not like, offered to have them re-made, etc. Although as customers, we did not necessarily expect anything as this should not be an expectation and we can recognize that. We uncomfortably, but kindly asked if it was at all possible to have one or both of the drinks removed from our tab, but the waitress said she could not do that because her manager was not on sight. This raises more concern as to why there is a lack of management on the premises, but quite honestly, that checks out after surveying the scene and reflecting on the night. We paid, tipped even, and our total surpassed 50 USD. Had the price been cheaper, I may not have such a big issue with the situation at hand, but needless to say this will most likely be our last visit to Hamilton. Maybe this is a unique experience at Hamilton, as it was a Saturday and early in the night, but unless you have low expectations and heavy pockets, then I cannot recommend this establishment for an enjoyable time out.

Drinks were pretty expensive for a local dive bar.
Guinness beef stew was amazing though, one of the best stews I’ve had in a while.
However, service was slow and the bartenders were distracted but we still had a nice time. Got rushed to order our dinner despite being ready to order for the 15 minutes we were waiting for the bartender to come back over to us.
Made friends with a customer’s dog named Baby who sat at the bar with us lol she was the coolest one in the room
