One of New Jersey Monthly’s best restaurants in Jersey City! Texas BBQ Restaurant + Tequila Bar located in the heart of Hamilton Park in downtown Jersey City, serving craft BBQ with a Mexican flare. Lunch & dinner 7 days a week and brunch every weekend. Happy Hour every Monday-Friday 4-6pm. On Sundays we say ‘Eff Monday’ and serve up half priced tequila shots from 4-10pm (on all tequilas!). Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday from 4-10pm with $1 off all tacos and $5 draft beers + $9 margaritas. Wednesdays are all night Happy Hour from 4-10pm.

We liked the food at Hamilton pork, good bbq and good service. We originally asked for a booth but immediately moved because there was a cockroach crawling across the table. Table had crumbs and clearly had not been cleaned. Otherwise meal was fine, enjoyed the various tacos, liked that you could order one of each. Big tacos. Good in house bbq sauces.

We were visiting the area and looking for a place for dinner. Our hotel had a list of local restaurants within walking distance and we chose this place because of the advertised bbq. ABSOLUTELY MELT IN YOUR MOUTH BRISKET! Hostess/waitress/staff were all extremely friendly and the service was quick!
My kids ordered the chicken sandwiches and French fries and loved it as well. Definitely a place to stop for delicious food and great service!

I was pleasantly surprised with the bbq here. I ordered the two meat platter with brisket and spare ribs, both tasted amazing. The only thing I would say is the brisket was a touch on the dry side and the ribs were tender to the point where they were mushy. But they were still tasty. Service was great and the $5 margarita was good.

Hamilton Pork exceeded our expectations on our first visit as a family! The brisket, pulled pork was incredibly tender and the sides have been amazing – mac & cheese, fries, and sweet beans. The laid back vibe and friendly staff made it super welcoming, even for our 4 year old, who loved the fries. We will come back soon!

The waiter was a great guy. Constant water supply whenever we was low on our cups. He was very professional, friendly, and polite.
The food came in timely order and not all at once so we won’t feel overwhelmed.

The smoked wings was just smoked “Frank’s Red Hot”.
According to my bf, it was a bit burnt when it comes to the texture. I personally like the barkish texture, so it’s debatable on how it turned out. Just the lack of bbq sauce originality and moisture was most agreeable.
The Jalepeno Cornbread was the most fluffiest cornbread I’ve ever had. You get your money worth from the slice, but the only issue was the spiciness from the jalepeno wasn’t there. It was good if there was sweet spicy combo if suggested.
Mexicorn was just …corn.
I expected to have more impact, but nope.
Corn.
Nachos with Brisket was really good. Nothing wrong with it. We got mostly full from it.
All in all, they just gotta be more bold with adding flavor and have more impact with the sauce instead of relaying on Frank’s Red Hot.

My wife and I really love this place. We live 45 minutes away but it’s the best bbq in the area. We’ve been a bunch of times and the food and service have always been great. Today I placed an order for pickup and when I got home I realized I only picked up one of the two bags from my order. They were nice enough to make sure I got the rest of my order sent to me so I didn’t have to go all the way back again to pick it up. So not only is the food all really amazing, but they run a great business. Will gladly go out of our way to get our bbq only from Hamilton Pork as long as we live in the area!

One of the best BBQ spots I’ve ever visited. Was recommended to me by a colleague in Jersey City while I was passing through NJ.
Service was ridiculously good. I was amazed at the time they took to explain the options to a newbie unlikely to be back anytime soon given I don’t live in Jersey.
Food was next level heavenly. Pork was tops, though the other meats in the sampler were also divine. Portion sizes are very generous and I hauled my leftovers all the way back to Virginia!
