The staff is friendly and does their best to be as helpful as possible, but the language is a huge barrier, their English as well as Japanese knowledge is limited. For example, they have two types of wagyuu in the menu (one with vegetables and sauce, one without). We ordered the plain one, and showed the item in the menu, but received the other :)) Since the price was the same, and the food was delicious and a new experience, we ate the one we received 🙂
In a Japanese restaurant I would expect a Japanese atmosphere and native staff, however that was not the the case. The overall atmosphere was nice, but 100% European.
However, service was very slow for us.
Still definitely 5 stars and will come back just for the food alone!
Highly recommended, just keep in mind about the service which can sometimes take very long, eg. getting the menu, getting someone to take our order, getting the bill, etc.
*note: there’s 1 particular table with rapid blinking lights we were told to wait at while our other table was being prepared. I really cannot stand those lights (I get blurred visions and headaches from those) and glad I did not have to be seated there.
Update: Came back to order off the menu. They started us with a small salmon amuse bouche, then we had the agedashi tofu starter. I had the piato misti with assorted sushi niguri and maki, the futo maki which were huge but we’re filled with salmon, unagi, fried ebi, and hamachi. finished it off with green tea gelato and vanilla gelato. Excellent as always
The waiters turned their backs while we were still asking questions; we ordered some sweets, but they never communicated with the kitchen. Despite this, they provide disposable chopsticks, which is quite unacceptable given the price and environmental concerns. Additionally, the walls of this restaurant are full of dust, and the area under the decorative light belt is covered with cobwebs. I had dinner facing that wall, and it was quite disturbing, I have to say.
The food is fairly okay.
The food is delicious and very tasty. The ingredients are fresh and the lunch menu is abundant.
Great price for the quality – 15€ for the sushi menu.
I have no reservations about returning to sample one of their more elaborate course meals. Highly recommended, I have only praise!
Also, all the service was nice!
