Intimate, sleek spot for kosher & vegetarian sushi, including maki, plus other Japanese fare.

We like this place very much. The food is very good, fresh and the portions are plentiful for the money. The sushi is unique for a kosher sushi place, some nice combinations and flavors. The Chinese is an add-on from their original business plan and seems to be working well. Our family loves the Chinese food from here. For the visitor or traveler, they package well and they are fast. 10 min on most days/times to prepare your request. It’s a good call if you’re in town. Just be mindful of parking, which can be a challenge.

Hamachi Sushi Bar is a cozy, reliable spot when you’re in the mood for fresh sushi without the fuss. The rolls are nicely balanced and not overloaded with sauce, and the sashimi tastes clean and high quality. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, with presentation that’s simple but appealing. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making it a good choice for a casual dinner or a low-key date night. It’s not flashy, just consistently solid sushi that hits the spot.

If you are looking for kosher sushi place – look no further! Only proper kosher fish is available (no eel, no shrimp, crab, etc.) There’s a selection with cooked sushi, fake crab meat, and any sushi that is kosher that resembles what the real sushi is supposed to be. The place is small, staff is friendly, and are very kosher aware. The food is very decent if being kosher is the most important thing for you in a meal.

Small. About four tables. Great deal to come for lunch. Ran out of meat and rice the night before so we couldn’t get their beef and broccoli. Got four rolls and two miso soups for $40. Didn’t like the dragonfly, but loved the redhead, ahava and salmon jalapeno. Dragonfly was just too hard and didn’t stay as one piece with the chopsticks, ahava was the black rice which had a peanut taste.
Ordered next day for the meat and got takeout. Got beef and broccoli and sesame chicken with fried rice. All were 5/5.

Certainly a very good effort and a lot of thought went into the menu. I’m sure that regular customers will have their favorite dishes. For a first time viator, I found the menu to be a little overwhelming. Less is more… But everything we ordered was delicious.

Extensive selection of Kosher Sushi Rolls (hot and cold) and Bowl styles, including Chirashi and Poke. Miso soup was salty, but the rolls did not disappoint. Very generous portions, to say the least. The fish was excellent, fresh and generous cut, and vegetables were fresh. Small seating area with a Sushi bar. Corner space. I had the “Kate,” Roll and Mom had a Hamachi and Avocado Roll. Got to meet Kate as a bonus.
They also have a Kosher Chinese selection. I could not believe how many to-go orders went out the door in the short time we were there.

the sushi in the photo (I don’t really know all the names for sushi) was really good, but you know what’s better? the sushi burrito (I’m so sorry, I don’t know the names) was very filling, mostly because there’s a lot of fish. The chairs are my only complaint, they’re not bad, but not five stars good

Not particularly friendly service. Poke bowl was very bland. Expensive for what you get.

Very good, fresh food. Their Chicago take on Pho with Romanian sausage was good, but not excellent. It should of had more flavour than it had. I can’t even remember what main I had, which means it was fine but not memorable good or bad. Service was laid back and excellent. I would visit again and try their other offerings.

The food is always good at Hamachi, but the Forbidden Bento box was a pleasant surprise! Perfect combination, filling and delicious.
