I went there today for the first time. I ordered a special: it was an Italian eggs, Benedict. Let me tell you: They should call it “Uova alla Papa Benedetto” so good! It was sausage and spinach with eggs and hashbrowns and hollandaise sauce. It was like if you took broccoli rabe and sausage and orchietta and turned it into your breakfast. While I was sitting there, I heard someone reading a review of a person who left one star. Don’t fall for that nonsense. Obviously that person has some serious things they need to work out. Go and enjoy!

We were going to a show at Ivoryton playhouse (excellent) so found this very nice local restaurant! Server was excellent explained the menu clearly and we decided to have a spinach omelet delicious , home fries were fantastic. Portions were large.i had steak and eggs Steak was cooked just like I ordered ! Biggest problem was which homemade muffins to take with us to hotel. They all looked delicious and they were. Definitely coming back at the end of October Don’t miss this gem

This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it.
I was concerned because it was a Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and I just knew it would be busy and we may not get seated right away; we were seated as soon as we walked in.

Our server was very attentive.

The food arrived within 10 / 15 minutes

When going to most breakfast places for a first time especially, I always go for my go-to, which is the eggs benedict.

To be honest when my eggs benedict and home fries arrived, the holidays looked a bit different than I am used to at most places and I was unsure about how it would be, taste-wise.
I really enjoyed it and I ate every bite. I always get my English muffins toasted extra for that crunch and so they don’t end up too soggy.
Perfect amount of Hollandaise and the home fries were good as well.

Tasty coffee, which matters because you would be surprised or not, that a lot of breakfast places don’t serve super good coffee.

I will definitely come back, thank you Bree for introducing me to this breakfast/lunch spot and thank you Tina for your exceptional service.
There was another young lady there who was our actual server and I am so sorry I did not get her name. She was great as well!

I paid for breakfast and with the tip it was around $40

I did not take a picture of my blueberry pancake which I saved for the next morning. Yummm

Love, love the food and staff of this fabulous breakfast lunch restaurant!
Great specials. The sausage and biscuits best in CT.
The homemade muffins and breads out of this world! My favorite is the Cinnabon bread. Yum!
Outdoor seating if you have a dog with you.
Right on Main St, Deep River if you want to pop in one of the local stores after very nice unique gifts and clothing.

Very Hearty Breakfast.
The corned beef hash was chock full of quality meat. The OE eggs were cooked perfectly. The home fries were very good as was the rye toast.
The waitress was slammed but managed to stay out in front of it. Very friendly staff and to watch the kitchen bang out meal after meal was fascinating. The ambiance is a perfect fit for Deep River feel. Plenty of street parking.

The perfect little diner, and honestly, the best omelette I think I’ve ever had! (Sausage hash and cheese). Quite a large serving – fed myself and my 2y/o with plenty to spare. Will be back soon!

Possibly the best variation of Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had: corned beef hash and spinach. The home fries were on point too. Quick with the coffee refills and super friendly service.

Enjoyed breakfast on our way home from Old Saybrook. Small restaurant with very friendly staff and great food. Seemed very popular with locals which usually is a sign of good food at reasonable prices. Good place to try.

Hally Jo’s is consistently a good choice for us. Any time we’re in the area and want to get some of the best breakfast food around in a very cozy atmosphere this is hands down the single best place to go. They have changing specials on the whiteboard behind the cash register that are my personal go to. But you can also customize your breakfast desires with anything you want! Definitely worth checking out! Highly recommend home fries as well, no order has ever let me down.
