The food is very unique and flavorful. I had the Jerk Shrimp Alfredo. Absolutely best in class. My favorite fettuccine alfredo dish anywhere hands down. My sides were Collard Greens and Fried Plantains, also quite good. Their desserts are from a local bakery and are exquisite. You can dine in, but most of their business appears to be takeout. Online ordering available. Dine-in can take some time, as they don’t have a large staff.

We’re visiting from California and I’ve been craving for good authentic Jamaican food. This place did not disappoint. The food was made fresh to order, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the vibe was homey with Jamaican music playing. It seems like a family owned business who pride themselves on quality and sharing their culture through food. Give them a chance and fill your belly at this awesome spot.

Me and my wife stopped in for lunch. But of us ordered the bamboo goat combo and let me tell you there was enough food to feed 4 people! Everything was amazing! Also tried the special which was the goat soup and was blown away by the flavor! We will definitely be adding this restaurant to our rotation!!

I love Jamaican food. I used to drive into Philly to find a good platter, not anymore! Food and service was excellent! Bonus points for the 90s dancehall playlist.

Hands down one of the best Jamaican spots in Philly! I actually traveled all the way from North Jersey to come & try this food off the recommendation of a friend. I had the platter with oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, rice & peas, sweet plantains and mac & cheese. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. You can taste the love in every bite. No bells, no whistles just straight authentic and bold Jamaican flavors that made my very picky tastebuds happy Hallow Bamboo is a true gem!

The family is awesome, super sweet. They let us taste their yams and OMG YUM! If ya like some spice, please try them out. Portions are huge!!!!

This food is so good. The Jerk chicken is falling off the bone. Went to take a bite of the chicken and ended up eating 2 pieces of it. The snapper is “Fire” in the words of my BF…bones and all. The salmon was also delicious and all the vegetables that came with the food are delicious too. Will definitely be back.

The hostess and chef were very friendly. This was our first time at Hallow Bamboo and we were not rushed. We had the spicy jerk chicken and ox tail.
The fried plantains are simply divine. Melts in your mouth as they are carmelized as thry are fried. Yum! Mac and Cheese and candoed yams were also great.
