I was working in Perry and heard of this location. It was roughly an hour drive but I was so glad I made the trek! The food was fantastic! The atmosphere was top notch and the staff was above my highest expectations and hopes! I cannot wait to return with many associates!! This made me long for another trip to Africa…but until I can make that journey your restaurant and boutique will be my home away from my home! Thank you so very much! And please tell Esther she was truly amazing!!!

Tried this place out. The food was amazing and the atmosphere as well. Our server was great, very polite and caring. However, the flow of food delivery, was not that grea. My main dish came out first, then the second one and the appetizer last and was the wrong one. I still enjoy it as the food was the Star.

10/10, what an amazing place! The food is DELICIOUS (don’t sleep on the Egusi stew with fufu) and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to come back!

It was a very nice experience. My husband and I went for a mid-day date, and we were pleased with everything: the food, service, and atmosphere. There was a cool vibe, from the boutique upon entry to the projected music videos delivering melodic tunes. I really enjoyed the authentic dining experience and the education from our hostess about the foods and best way to enjoy them. If you are looking to try African cuisine, this is a great option.

First time trying dishes prepared with fufu. We had fun sampling a few dishes and definitely gave us the want to discover more. They had run out of cheese for the zanzi pizza so we didn’t get to try it, but they were willing to do what they could to try and make it without. The flavors were so different from dish to dish!

We’re incredibly grateful to Halisi Africa for their generous food contribution to the 2nd Annual Black History Art Contest at Bwembya’s Market & Art Gallery in Quincy. Their soup was amazing!

Thank you for showing up for the community with both flavor and generosity. We truly appreciate you!

So much to say , I travel for a lot different cities & states tasting African dishes. I googled this place and went to try it out . I arrived at 12:40 didn’t leave until 2:30pm. They gave our order to another table took over a hour making our order on top of that the food we initially ordered they ran out of beef after 30 minutes of opening time so we had to change what we initially ordered to something else . This food is not AFRICAN TRADITION, it’s more Haitian / American . The goat was over seasoned tasted like a Haitian meal and the egusi soup tasted like tomato soup which the real egusi soup base is tomato but the egusi they serve does not have African ingredients. The egusi was very watery the onions in it was raw/ the fufu ahh , is horrible it was cold and tasted old. The waitress apologized several times I stayed in hopes the food will make up
For the mistakes but the food just made the experience worse . She came with the bill I asked her was it something they can discount due to the bad experience and having to wait
Over a hour & 30 minutes and she said she’ll ask the manager came back the food was on the house. I am grateful for that , but I would’ve loved some real African food I don’t mind paying whatever the amount is. The portion is small as well. I drove out of town to
Try this place. I’m not saying don’t go there , all I’m saying is that this is not a traditional
African restaurant the cook is not African and I don’t want people to be
misinformed. Other tables had mistakes as well , just need some improving . Go get a real experience with a real African restaurant the flavors is amazing. Far as the aesthetic goes it’s a cozy feeling nice music being played several items for sale in the boutique love the painting on the wall.

If you’re looking for flavorful food then you’ve stumbled upon the right place. Many places in town use spice as a way to make dishes have heat for the sake of heat, losing all flavor, but Halisi knows how to make flavorful heat.

There is a wide variety of vegetarian options and vegan options – including the egusi stew!

This is a gem in Tallahassee and one of the many reasons why Railroad Square needs to continue to exist for years to come.

My hubs and I had been trying to get to this restaurant ever since Guy Fiery of DDD went there! We finally made it there Oct. 2, 2025. We were the first customers to arrive at5:05. We both ordered the oxtails with rice and collard greens. First the service was slow. When we received our food it was lukewarm. The oxtails were tough and tasted like they were old! We did tell the waitress when we paid that they were not tender. She replied she would let the kitchen know! I may give them another try one day but hubs was very unimpressed! I love catering black owned businesses but they should have quality service and food or whatever they sell!
