Bought the best banana bread that I’ve tasted from here! They had just baked it, was still warm. We also decided to try the coffee shop called Maui Sunrise Beverage Co that is next to the halfway to hana shop, it was indeed very tasty

Such a great stop! We were so happy they weren’t out of banana bread because the banana bread sundae was absolutely delicious. We also tried a few other treats including a really great smoothie. They were out of the pineapple smoothie, but suggested the mango instead, and it was a fantastic alternative. Everything came out quickly, and every single person we interacted with was warm and friendly even the gentleman helping cars park in the lot. A lovely experience all around and definitely worth the stop!

Halfway to Hana is the perfect pit stop on your Road to Hana adventure! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the banana bread is absolutely amazing—moist, buttery, soft, and packed with flavor. It was still warm when we got it, with just the right amount of sweetness.

It’s the perfect treat to enjoy while taking in the stunning views along the drive. If you’re making the journey, this stop is a must!

We attempted to go to fullway to Hana but because of our tight schedule we stopped our journey here, Half way to Hana!
We saw a long line of people standing in front of the store! We were curious what was all about! Yep, it’s a food store!! Mostly, refreshment type of store and we had a bowl of shredded ice and banana bread! My wife’s friend told us to get banana cake, that’s why we did it!
Since we were full at that time, we kept it nicely and brought it to my friend’s place in Honolulu but we forgot to eat it there… later they said that it was the best banana bread that they’ve ever had! We were so happy to hear that, however, we have to try it again next time for ourselves for sure!
Make sure get your banana bread
Cheers

We stopped at the place following the recommendations online about their banana bread. It was ok but too sweet for my taste. The banana bread cost 10$ and if you are paying with credit card you pay extra 4%. They have picnic tables and parking spots. Nice, no more.

Good spot to stop for lunch. They sell sandwiches, shave ice, banana bread, and smoothies. They have a nice picnic area to eat. They also sold Dramamine if you need some from the drive. No restrooms here though so plan to stop before if needed.

Banana bread was moist and full of banana flavor. Pineapple smoothie was really good and tasted fresh pineapple. Price total $20.85. The bread was still moist and tasted good the next day. However I wish it would taste buttery. I liked this banana bread a bit better than the one we bought up the road in Ke’anae.

I’ve been coming to this roadside stand since the 1980’s.

ATMOSPHERE:
The tiny stand is located in the front yard of a private home, just east of the Keanae Peninsula lookout on the mountain side of Hana Highway. There’s a few seats & benches to enjoy the serene, green, and lush scenery.

MENU:
They sell a range of snacks, ice cream (Roselani brand, and the chocolate macadamia nut being my favorite,) homemade banana bread which is really good, and beverages.

SERVICE:
Always friendly and full of aloha as you are in the country!

TIP:
Cash only. No restrooms.

OVERALL:
This is the original “halfway” store as a few more have popped up along the way, though with less reliable hours of operation.

Their banana bread is moist and realy delicious. It’s also way much better than the ‘famous’ one ahead on the way to Jana
