Our oysters are outstanding, but if you’re not in the mood for oysters, Half Shell has a vast menu with something for everyone, lunch or dinner. Start your meal with New Orleans style BBQ Shrimp or a Seafood Stuffed Portabella. We feature daily and monthly specials utilizing locally caught fresh fish and seafood. Or, try one of our steak or chicken creations like the Almond Encrusted Chicken. Seafood specialties include classic Shrimp and Grits and hearty Seafood Pot Pie. Beautiful, spacious restaurant. Nice bar! Delicious fresh seafood dishes, salads & side items. (Steaks & burgers look yummy too.) Our waitress, Carla, with gorgeous blue eyes , gave excellent service ! Delicious and affordable. Plenty of free parking. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience with my family today. Nice atmosphere with great music playing. Service was good but got slower toward the the end of our meal even though they weren’t busy at all and it was later into the evening. Food was good and prices were average for the type of food and level of establishment this is. The cocktail I had was was spot on and delicious.

Pretty dang good food here. Prices are a little higher but the quality seems to match. Server did their job well. Definitely would recommend this place for good seafood.The charbroiled Oysters were fantastic. Blackberry margarita tasted amazing. The seafood pot pie was absolutely delicious. I cannot express my full appreciation enough for the wonderful service that my family and friends experienced at your Trussville, AL location on 8/5/23. After speaking to a very friendly manager (I do not know her name) earlier in the week, I chose this restaurant although reservations were not accepted. I called the following day just as a heads up that about 20 people were coming for my graduation celebration from the University of Alabama. The moment we walked in, the servers were ready for us and had a special section created. Even though we were a large party, the staff was tremendously courteous to all and very welcoming. It was honestly the BEST party of my life. The food was excellent (shrimp and grits :), the service outstanding, the atmosphere welcoming. I do not know everyone’s name. I remember Zach Harris and Carla Smith. Quite honestly everyone working was polite and focused on doing a good job. So refreshing for this day and time. I will be a repeat customer and will recommend the restaurant to all of my friends and family. Thanks so much!

Back again for a new review. I will call this Revu-a-Holic Time. Don’t steal my slogan it’s trademark ™️. Though, I went to Half Shell Oyster House in Trussville Alabama. I have been waiting for the right time to venture off to this location. OMG, five stars is what the restaurant gets. Truly, it was worth the go too. Food was absolutely delicious. My taste buds cannot say more. My hubby and I ate so much but we still left with goodie bags. Pros, cons, and pics below.

Sat there for an hour and 15 on the patio waiting to be seated. Never had a server come out to the patio at all. I had to walk inside to the bar to get my wife a drink. We ultimately left.

Chill, dim, atmosphere at Half Shell. Our waiter was knowledgeable and gave us quick service. Both raw and cooked oysters were fantastic and every menu item had great portions. Everything was very good. However, they don’t offer dessert options.

The first experience was a couple months ago. We put our name on the waiting list and were told an hour wait. After not receiving any updates for over 2 hours we ate somewhere else and finally received a text after nearly 3 hours saying our table was ready. We tried it again last night, hoping for a better experience. We put our name on the list at around 7:45 and were told 30-45 min. After 45 min we walked back in the door to see what was going on and saw that over half the restaurant was empty. We asked the host who had put us on the list and he said “oh let me get you a table”. Once we sat down we waited for another 10 min for someone to take our drink order and by that time we were over it. Every employee in the place didn’t care one bit that we were sitting there without any service. We asked for the manager and explained why we were upset and leaving. The lady that we spoke to clearly didn’t care and to be honest, every employee in the place looked incompetent of doing their job. After seeing who was running the place, I damn sure didn’t want to try their food. Half Shell Oyster House in Trussville is nothing but a circus being ran by a bunch of clowns.
