Nestled just north of the Pike Place Market, we focus on serving seafood fresh from the Pacific Northwest waters with West Coast flavors.
Our menu includes oysters, crab, salmon, fresh local catch plus steaks and a really great burger.
Icy martinis, bubbles and spritzes center the Pearl Bar.

Food was fine: caesar salad lacked acidity, potato buns were overcooked, carpaccio wasn’t doing the seafood any favors. Extremely overpriced. Wine list was meh. The service was what made me give such a poor review. The waitress barely checked on our table. We were interested in the crab roll; she said it was 10”; it was maybe 5” (a wild difference for $44). When we addressed this with her she shrugged it off. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Lots of other restaurants within a block radius.

Stopped by for a quick bite during their Oyster Happy Hour, and it was fantastic! The oysters were incredibly fresh and paired perfectly with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. My husband and I ended up having a dozen each because they were so good. We also tried the roasted oysters, which had a nice kick of spice and a lovely crunch. Despite the place being quite busy, the staff remained patient and provided excellent service. Overall, a great spot for Happy Hour!

Half Shell is a gem tucked along the edges of Pike Place Market, and it makes a strong case for becoming a regular stop—especially during happy oyster hour. The oysters were expertly shucked, fresh, and properly presented, exactly what you hope for at a seafood-focused spot.
What surprised us most, though, were the other menu highlights. Alongside the expected seafood offerings sits a genuinely impressive burger with hand-cut fries that more than holds its own. It’s the kind of unexpected standout that makes the meal feel even more memorable.
Service was excellent from start to finish—warm, attentive, and welcoming without ever hovering. The cocktail program also deserves a nod, offering creative spins on classics and martinis that feel thoughtful without being fussy.
Half Shell delivers far more than just oysters, making it a smart and satisfying stop near Pike Place.

Incredible happy hour. $2 oysters can’t be beat. The service was friendly and attentive. Our group had a great time here. The raw oysters were amazing, as well as the cooked oyster, Dungeness crab rolls, and the dip. I can’t wait to come here again.

I come here regularly to sit at the bar for happy hour, and I have never had a bad experience. Oysters are always phenomenal quality for the price you pay, even when happy hour ends. I appreciate consistency and Half Shell never disappoints whether it’s a special/deal or the regular menu. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, especially at the bar. Favorite bartender is Matt who maneuvers behind the bar with ease–he makes it look effortless but speaks with a confidence that shows you he works hard. He has never made me a bad drink and his recommendations are always on-point. He is friendly and attentive. The food comes out quick, hot, and fresh, and there’s never a lapse in quality despite coming in at different times of day/points of service.

Happy Hour at Half Shell was such a vibe! We dove right into their amazing oyster selection. The Happy Hour Wildcat oysters were super fresh and tasted like a dream. I also tried the Hama Hama oyster, and wow, it was a true delight! For something a bit different, the crab roll was packed with flavor. Seriously, you *have* to try it. The Coho salmon was delicious, however, the gnocchi could benefit from additional cooking time. The sauce’s flavor profile would be enhanced by further searing the mushrooms.

Excellent quality food. The oysters and chowder are excellent, the vibes and service are both great. Broccoli is also good, but we had a few bites that were overly salted. Try the fries if you get a chance.

After walking all around pikes market our stomachs started to grumble, so we made our way over to half shell for happy hour. Service was top notch – friendly and attentive – and we were sat very quickly. The oysters were so good – with great accompaniments. The steak frites were fine but not amazing – I blame myself for not choosing a seafood entree. Their happy hour mini crab rolls were definitely the highlight! If we are ever back in Seattle I’ll definitely come back.
