Getting ready for a 3 hour drive up to UPAC from NJ, decided to do a little pre-trip food research and googled my way to this place. WOW- so glad I did.
The staff (seemed to be the owners?) were so warm and welcoming. Wonderfully decorated, immaculately clean, and just had a great vibe. They treated my buddy and I like we were longstanding regulars and it was just a great place to spend some time. I decided to make my trip there worthwhile and got a wide spread of their baked offerings- tried some of their freshly made cinnamon sugar donuts, 2 of the larger speciality strawberry frosted donuts, a cinnamon roll, and a piece of their famous chocolate babka. Words cannot express the greatness of these baked goods! You can truly tell how much care and quality goes into everything they bake. Everything immediately skyrocketed to the top of my personal “best ____ I’ve ever had” lists, without exaggeration.
This place was awesome in every way and is truly destination worthy food. Prices were very reasonable when considering the effort, quality of ingredients, and menu. I fully intend on taking some trips up to the area just to visit here in the near future, I can’t wait to explore more of their menu. My only regret is I didn’t buy more!

The Babka is the best I had outside of the Mediterranean. The apple cider donuts are to die for. The drink specials are always on point. The sandwiches are smack-me-hard good. What can I say other than, you have to go here. This is my favorite cafe in the whole of the tristate area. I drive an hour just to go here! Highly recommended.

Came for the donuts, also got the crumb cake. The cider donut was good, crisp outside and soft inside. The Maple Bacon donut was pretty disappointing, it didn’t seem to be that fresh, the bacon was good, but was the only other donut available while I was there. The strawberry Crumb Cake was the best part, not the best I’ve had but the jam made it unique and a nice addition.

We are in from out of town and made fast friends with the owner JT, who took time out to write us a local guide. Not to mention the delicious donuts and coffee. The other reviewers here aren’t wrong with the high rating, except maybe the crazy Yelp lady who we won’t get into on this platform. Keep up the good work guys. Thank you!!

This cafe has a really unique vibe, which I personally loved. On my last visit, which was a few months back, I ordered a coffee with a croissant and a donut. Everything was pretty good except for my lātte, which felt overly milky, but it wasn’t bad. Overall, it’s a nice cafe in a charming small town, definitely worth a stop.

Half Moon is a really amazing cafe in the beautiful Kingston upstate New York area, I drove there along with my wife to visit the heritage site, and while we were back home, we found this cafe by the river area. The black coffee is cheap but tasty, and the croissants are delicious. We also bought a bag of coffee, and got a promotion for buying one get one free. We love the flavor and it tastes great.

This place once was great! Not anymore! I went here the other day to order some hot drinks for my family. When inline I decided to order some donuts and hot soup. After getting my drinks promptly, I waited 15 minutes and started to get a little impatient and asked how my soup was doing. They said it’s almost ready. After another 15 minutes my drinks were getting cold and after waiting inline again I asked how my soup was doing and they said almost ready. I said my drinks are getting cold and that is the reason I came here. I then asked for my money back for the soups and that would not refund my soups. At that point I held back my frustration and asked for my have dozen of donuts and the lady handed me one donut. I said you all have had me here so long you don’t even remember my order. I felt so used and incredibly pissed off. I do not recommend this place.

What a wonderful discovery! I stopped by the Half Moon Rondout Café for the first time with my family and we absolutely loved it. The bakery selection is amazing — everything looks and tastes freshly made — and the coffee was perfect. The staff were genuinely kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Such a lovely find in Kingston — we’ll definitely be back!

The coffee was on point and average priced (16 oz latte $6). The iced eggnog latte was sooo good. The service was friendly and helpful. Now let’s get to the donuts….very limited selection. They do cake and basic yeast donuts. I got a cinnamon sugar cake donut and a vanilla frosted yeast donut. The cake donut was warm, very small, flavorless and cost $2.25. The yeast donut was much larger, fluffy and taste much better than the cake donut and cost $4. The coffee is worth the stop but the overpriced, basic donuts left me very disappointed. Definitely recommend the coffee but wouldn’t bother getting the donuts.

Really cute spot! Great food and coffee. You can tell the owner JT genuinely cares—not just about his business, but about people who come through the door and the community. Definitely worth the stop!
