I would consider this one of Bloomington’s top lunch destinations. I found myself looking for a place to take my boss to lunch. Not too upscale but not too casual.. this was it. Just the right amount of elegance without being way overpriced and outrageous. The wait staff was excellent. They made great menu recommendations and were top notch. Very modern and newly developed area. Just far enough outside of the main strip of town to make it feel like a destination. I will for sure be back to try more of the menu.

A very bright atmosphere. It seemed pretty hard to hear inside when filled to capacity, so we sat outside. Our server was very pleasant. We had the old fashioned and the lemon drop cocktail. They were fantastic. One dish brought together smokey, sweet and spicy. I ordered the French dip. Both were Amazing hot sandwiches. Although I would like to try other dishes in the future, I would definitely have either dish again. It os really awesome that they partner with Brightside cafe to offee gluten-free vread substitutes with every sandwich.

I enjoyed my experience at Half Bottle bistro. We got a table outside. I was pleasantly surprised to see oysters on the menu. I liked the wine I ordered as well (pino grigio, don’t remember the label). Overall a great place to meet and share plates.

Wonderful place to eat on a good-weathered day. We sat out in the outdoor covered seating area which was perfect. The inside can become a bit crowded and loud when at capacity. The drink selections were appropriate, but of course, we came for the oysters. I would come again on their half priced day as the oysters were good but not the best we’ve had elsewhere. This is one of few places in Bloomington that serve oysters and would still recommend anyone to come try.

When I first came in and was ready to order, the waitress was on her phone and didn’t notice me at all.
After the food was prepared, she was chatting at the front, and another staff member had to bring the dishes to my table. I had already finished my appetizer, but no one cleared the empty plate before the main course was served.
During the meal, she only came by once to ask how the food was. When it was time to pay, the waitress was nowhere to be found, and again another staff member had to help me with the bill.
Overall, the food was acceptable, but considering the price, it was just average. Better service would really improve the experience.

Wonderful dining experience! The moment we walked in, we were met with incredible vibes and friendly service. Our cocktails, appetizers, and entrees were not only delicious, but the presentation was also gorgeous! All around a fantastic time and we can’t wait to visit again!

Let me start by saying I live back behind this place, and so I really want it to succeed! The service is awesome and the atmosphere is great. I’m docking one star for food temp, and another for the prices. The food was tasty, but not hot enough. The grilled cheese was awesome it concept, but needed to be warmer. Same with the meatballs. Overall, I think the prices are just a bit high for the food we got (want to add burrata to your meatballs? +$7). But the wait staff took good care of us and they were patient with our kiddos. We’ll be back, though, I’m sure!

If anyone leaves below a 4, they need to find more joy in life. This is SUCH an amazing, local restaurant. The food is familiar yet incredibly unique. Their menu isn’t 4 pages long, which I appreciate- what they do, they do VERY well. The atmosphere is like nowhere else in town, it’s bright and lively. The staff is helpful and friendly and very accommodating. Peek at the menu before you arrive- nothing is too heavy- perhaps some feel this makes it more suitable for lunch. I find it to be a refreshing change. And if you feel it’s better for lunch, go at lunch time! Half Bottle Bistro is a lovely place to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner- or a special night out with family. Share appetizers and/or wine. It’s an experience. Open yourself up for a bright setting and a delightful meal while supporting a small local business!

Love coming here. Not only are the staff and bartenders amazing, the food is amazing!! Rachel and John has gone above and beyond to make this a family friendly atmosphere. The beef manhattan is top notch! If you are lucky to catch John, he makes amazing waffles!
