Halal Smash is absolutely amazing! The burgers here are incredibly juicy and packed with bold, delicious flavors that keep you coming back for more. The smash-style patties are cooked perfectly, with a great balance of crispiness and tenderness. The buns are fresh and soft, holding everything together just right. The menu offers a fantastic variety, catering to all tastes with some unique halal options that stand out.

The service at Halal Smash is top-notch—staff are friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends. Overall, Halal Smash delivers on taste, quality, and excellent service, making it a must-try burger joint for anyone craving a flavorful and satisfying meal!

So many highly rated reviews, and I can see why. I’ve heard good things about the restaurant. But my experience was the complete opposite. Ordered 3 classic smash burgers and a small fried to go, as I had a plane to catch. Order was placed 4:30 ish, and I got a message saying order was received. However, went to pick it up at 5:30 and they said that they hadn’t received the order. Very disappointed in such poor service. Also, building was not kept in good condition. The floors were extremely sticky, and there were cobwebs in front above the door.

beyond disappointed !! Who makes a gyro like this !! Full of salad and a very small amount of meat placed here and there. I stopped here in a rush to get my family food on a work break on a double shift today I’ve never been here it was on the way in rush hour traffic so I thought meh how bad could it be! Well beyond bad
We had to eat these I didn’t have time for anything else but won’t be making this mistake again !
Shoulda coulda woulda went to TimTims on Montrose or Big Boy on western or even Big League Burgers on Irving do your self a favor if you want a gyro don’t come here maybe the only thing keeping them open is the burgers but we aren’t willing to try that either now

More people need to know about this place and try their food. I’ve been here twice in the last month and tried cheesesteaks, smashburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries – everything has been fresh, hot, and tasted amazing! Agreed, the interior is a little run-down, but there are so many can’t miss hole-in-the-wall places around town and this is definitely one of them. Expect a better/faster experience if you order in-person, look the other way on whether or not the floor feels sticky, and enjoy some really good comfort food!

Came here for lunch while working. Ordered the cheesy Sriracha smash burger and some tenders. We were told that it was a 20 minute wait time so I waited hoping it would be faster since we were the only ones there. Definitely took longer than 20 min and once we did get the food it was cold my smash burger wasn’t even made properly no grilled onions no Sriracha. Only one single jalapeño and a singular pickle which i asked for no pickles.
The tenders we had ordered were supposed to be spicy tenders no sauce either of the one we picked. Just bland plane stale tenders. Definitely a major let down

If I could rate service 0 stars I would. No greeting. Spoke like a scared 4 year old. Low voice and barely said anything. Looked mad I was ordering like he didn’t want to work. Got bothered because I asked for my receipt. Dragging his feet to go make our food and no type of urgency what so ever. First time here and definitely my last time. It amazes me how they can have someone like this working here. Coming from someone that was a server and worked in the industry, it’s so upsetting how people can be. Very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend. I was excited for nothing. This is the reason why small businesses stay small businesses.

Halal Smash Burger & Phillies Review

Location: near western and foster Ave Chicago IL
Certification: HMS certified

I was driving by the area and decided to check it out. It’s a simple corner location but parking is an issue. Side parking requires permits and Main Street parking is limited.

I ordered the Chicago style smash burger fries and a drink. No combo meal deal. ‍♂️

Burger: Chicago styles is a smash burger with Lettuce cheese onion tomato toppings ans their sauce. I’m a fan of potato bun and this did not disappoint. The meat itself was perfect in thickness. Not too thin. The flavor was subtle. Tasted fresh. 8/10.

Fries: I ordered the seasoned curly fries. Unfortunately the fries were NOT good. They weren’t seasoned, Over fried and extremely hard/crispy. The bag it was in was soaking in oil. I couldn’t finish it. 2/10

Drinks: Pepsi products

Overall: I was pleased with the burger. Will get it again in the future. Will try their Philly next time. Avoid the curly fries, will try the regular fries

The ambiance left something to be desired; it felt a bit too sterile and lacked the warmth I typically enjoy in a dining setting. The decor was uninspired, which made the whole experience feel less inviting.

However, the food was pleasantly surprising. The menu offered a variety of options, and while some dishes were just average, a few stood out as genuinely enjoyable. The flavors were well-executed, and the presentation was nice.

Amazing!! A classic divey restaurant (sticky and rough around the edges), though the burgers themselves felt like an elevated version of a classic amer staple. The potato buns were perfect and fluffy, burgers just the right amount of greasy and stacked perfectly, and the BEEF BACON!! Wow, just as crispy, fatty, flavorful and delicious as the alternative, I honestly wouldn’t have known otherwise! Love it will rec to all my burger loving friends
