I cannot thank Mustafa and the Halal Gyro House enough. My company, Delmarva, needed to feed emergency crews on short notice. When nearly everywhere was closed, Mustafa was not only open but stepped up in a huge way.
We needed food for 100 people, and they delivered at the drop of a dime. The food was incredibly fresh, hot, and arrived with plenty of sides and all the necessary condiments. It was a complete, satisfying meal that was exactly what our hard-working crews needed.
In a stressful situation, their reliability and quality were a blessing. Thank you for looking out for us last minute and executing flawlessly. You’ve more than earned a new regular customer. I will be recommending you to everyone!

This place is truly a hidden gem! I’ve been ordering from here regularly since it’s close to my work, and the food is always amazing. The staff—especially Mustafa—are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We recently had a work event and ordered catering from here, and Mustafa went above and beyond to accommodate my food request. Portions are very generous too. If you’re in the UD area, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

I had Halal Gyro Kabob House cater a 65 people event at a local hotel as a part of the pre-wedding festivities for my daughter. We had a combination of full tray kabob platters and shashlik. The food was amazing with top notch quality and generous portions. Our guests were super happy with the different items and couldn’t stop talking about how tasty the food was. At the end of the event we had enough food leftover that was refrigerated and frozen for future use and it still tasted good to the last bit. The owner, Waheed was so pleasant to deal with and accommodated all our twists and turns until the last minute and delivered the food on time at the right serving temperature and our guests enjoyed a delicious meal and left extremely satisfied. Waheed will make suggestions for the type of mix and match, quantities, etc according to your preferences and budget, and go over and beyond to deliver a satisfying experience. I highly recommend Halal Gyro Kabob House for your formal and informal events and you won’t be disappointed!

Unequivocally, the best halal food you can get here! Their white sauce, that you can buy hand-made by the bottle, is the best we’ve tasted at a halal store/food-truck/cart. If you like middle eastern food, even a little bit, or kids that just likes French fries, don’t hesitate to order from here! The food, flavors, portion-size, and price can’t be beat. They encouraged us to customize the food any way we wanted! So, also great for picky kids.
The kitchen & store was/is impeccably clean. The staff are so nice! When you enter, the staff instantly treats you like habibi—it feels like being welcomed into a home, and they truly care about you!
Our party remarked both at how incredibly reasonable the price was and how amazing the food was. My brother pointed out that when I took my first bite, my eyes literally go wide & lit up. Our party kept remarking on how good the meal was for the rest of our day.
I ordered the chicken gyro w/ fries and customized it with Tika chicken. We also got the tilapia gyro, falafel gyro, and onion rings & mozzarella sticks (both come with white sauce, instead of marinara, which we were hesitant, until trying). We went back and got a bottle of white sauce to use at home for everything.
The flavor had uncountable amounts of flavors and was perfectly cooked & spiced; no ingredient or spice overpowered another, but you can taste them all. The french fries are also always the perfect crispiness, that somehow only the best truly authentic middle eastern/halal shops, can get them to be.
Absolutely incredible! All the money is put towards the food and cleanliness with the semi-open kitchen.
The portion size for a single gyro is huge! Everyone in our group exclaimed how much food each of us got! It was large enough that most could only eat about half and was able to reheat the rest. So 2 meals, for ~$13. Absolutely nothing compares!
I can’t recommend them enough; go enjoy your meal!

This is hands down the best take out spot in Newark. This place checks every box. Excellent food across the entire menu, reasonable prices, great portion sizes, and very friendly staff. The NY Style Lamb Gyro is my go to comfort food, and I am always greeted with a welcoming smile from the guys in the kitchen when I come in. Highly recommend!
