A friend recommended Halal Express while I was trying to figure out what to grab for lunch, and I’m glad they did. It turned out to be a solid choice.
Parking was easy, which is always a plus. Just note that it’s metered parking along Sunrise Highway and Atlantic Avenue, but I had no trouble finding a spot.
The staff was pleasant and welcoming from the moment I walked in. Service was fast, which is perfect when you’re on a lunch break and don’t have time to wait around.
I ordered the Lamb gyro and it was delicious. The Lamb was flavorful, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. Everything tasted fresh.
Eunice was a great host and made the experience even better. You can sit inside and eat if you’d like, but I decided to take mine to go.
Overall, great food, fast service, and friendly staff. I’ll definitely be back.

I used to come here a few times a month, I literally just came in and ordered a chicken platter, he puts the rice and salad in the container and then asks me “chicken and lamb?” And I respond just chicken, he then completely ignored me and put both chicken and lamb. Why bother asking if you’re just gonna put it anyways? Their portions also seem way smaller, I used to be able to get about 3 meals out of a platter and now I get maybe 1.5 meals

I live close to this place and I’ve been going here since it opened a few years ago and I can tell you for a FACT that the portions are much smaller now. They used to give you a big container of chicken and rice that would fill me to the brim. Now they give you half of that portion and charge you the same.
I hate it when these people bait and switch you like this. A friendly older guy used to serve the food but I haven’t seen him in a while. Now it’s some younger guy who’s not as friendly.
I don’t think I’ll be coming back here as there are other halal places in the area

I recently visited Halal Express and had a disappointing experience due to the extremely long waiting time. Despite placing a simple order, everyone who walked in after me had already walked out with their food before I was served. I was initially skeptical about coming here, and the prolonged waiting time just confirmed my doubts.
The food was alright, but very pricey. The kofta kebab over rice in particular, took an unexpectedly long time to prepare. But it was a 4/5. The chicken over rice platter was also underwhelming, with the chicken being very chewy and hard to enjoy. On the positive side, the salad was very fresh, which was a nice touch.
Also, the forks had a very weird smell, probably because they were new and all, but it was very hard to enjoy my meal.
I don’t recommend this place if you’re looking for prompt service and consistently good food.
