The chicken baguette was the best chicken I’ve ever had – perfectly cooked, seasoned just right, and incredibly juicy. While the service took a bit longer than expected, it’s understandable given that only two people were handling over the truck. Definitely worth the wait!

Hakim is an absolute bona-fide legend, his food is not to be missed and is one of a kind!
I ended up being stuck out in the suburbs without enough euros in cash on my last night in Heidelberg. I tried to find an ATM nearby but there were none available in walking distance, I told Hakim I really wanted to try his ribs and he still offered serve me up a smaller but generous plate for the money I could give him. What arrived on my table was the stuff that dreams are made of.
The meat literally melts right off the bone like hot butter, the pork skin is ultra crispy and seasoned to perfection and the sauce is the sweet with darker flashes of bourbon. I will dream of these ribs for years until I’m back. Hakim also told me a bit of the history of the place and how he had set up the food truck to service American GI’s and introduce them to a wider cultural palate. When I expressed how good the ribs were he threw in an extra for good measure and said when I’m back in Australia I can let them know he was “rich of heart”.
Needless to say I’ll be singing your praises down under brother!

Hakim is an extremely rude and unfriendly man! When my friend and I went there, we asked if we just had to sit and wait or if it was self-service, and he snapped at us, mumbling something and then started talking nonsense like, “If you don’t eat here, that’s fine, go somewhere else.” Since we were very hungry and there were no other restaurants in the area, we waited patiently. When we were ordering, he snapped at us again, calling himself a “professional” and putting on an ego show with an disrespectful attitude. I pointed out that he was very rude and unfriendly at all and left. We didn’t try his “famous” dish, but his arrogant and disrespectful behavior killed our appetite.

A casual, no-frills ribs shack, Hakim does it right. The food is delicious and served in large portions, even for small portions. A large portion is massive, great for sharing.

I came here with a group of people. Ordered Oriental Soup and Pommes. My friends ordered ribs. We didn’t face the bad attitude people talk about online. In fact he’s pretty polite. Soup is a bit too salty for me but it’s good in general.

This place is what dreams are made of. A bizarre food truck / structure that is more patio than restaurant features some of the best pork ribs in Germany. Order the half rack with sauce to save room for the potatoes & chicken wings which have a perfect crispy spice to them. BYOwet wipes.
