This was our first time at the Hakashi Walnut Creek location. We had such a good experience with Chef Julio in SF that we wanted to check out his East Bay location.

Our server San and Chef Carlos took care of us on a Sunday for lunch.

They were incredibly accommodating and made our meal enjoyable and memorable.

We ordered 3 chef’s omakases and a few extra items a la carte.

Everything was amazing. Highly recommend visiting.

Loved this place. Hakashi has a great vibe, super fresh fish, and it’s in a really convenient spot in Walnut Creek. The service was awesome — both the server and the chef were really friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re craving good sushi.

My favorite place for a quality, AFFORDABLE meal is at Hakashi Sushi on Main Street in Walnut Creek. Once again, I left feeling full and satisfied for just $10. The value for the quality is unmatched and possibly the best deal in town!

The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. They even import some of their fish from Japan.

What also sets Hakashi apart is the service. From the moment I walk in, I’m greeted with the most genuine, welcoming hospitality I’ve experienced in a long time. The staff and management carry themselves with a level of kindness and class that feels rare these days, reminding me of a dying era of true customer care and pride for what they are serving.

Chic, relaxing ambiance with great A/C.

If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out! This place is a gem!

Happy hour here is a game changer! My wife and I were completely satisfied with the food and the service. You can tell by the quality that the chefs here really have exquisite attention to detail. Truly a gem of the east bay. Good to know we don’t need to venture all the way to SF or SJ to get some amazing cuts of fish. The TORO IS AMAZING! The pork kukuni, and salmon Kama

Super friendly staff. Nelson and his staff made sure customers were happy dining there from start to finish. They have excellent fish quality. Soft and fresh. The sushi rice was a bit on a dry chewy side but the texture compliments the soft sashimi pieces well. The pork kakuni was one of the best I have tried in Bay Area Japanese restaurants. Melt in the mouth soft and flavorful. The wagyu bone marrow with uni and caviar was very rich and tasted good with the crunchy toast. Spider roll crab pieces were delicious and crispy. Hama negi roll was excellent as well. Very glad to see lots of Japanese draft beers offered. Hope to return for the asahi draft as they ran out mid day on a 100s degree day. I was very excited to see Daigo shot on the menu. It’s a signature appetizer at Daigo, a SF sushi restaurant that I have visited half a decade ago. Apparently chef Suzuki had passed on and he taught the sushi skills to next generation Bay Area chefs. It’s an honor to find this delicious treat to carry on his legacy.

The fish is fresh and the sushi is quality. The staff is super friendly too! They use real crab and wasabi which is something a lot of places dont do.

Business lunch at Hakashi in Walnut Creek. First time there, but definitely going back!!!

The seafood was super fresh, the service exceptional and with humor. Some very unique items on the menu, another reason to return to try more.

We each started with the Daigo Shot – diced yellow tail, quail egg, with truffle oil with a lovely sauce; shared garlic edemame, shrimp stuffed shishito peppers, rainbow roll, Melanie roll, spider roll and finished with the yuzu mango cheesecake.

We each added an adult beverage, a Lychee Martini and a Tamarind Margarita. Both well balanced and refreshing.

Everything was presented beautifully and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

My favorite sushi spot, this is definitely a hidden gem, easily the best sushi in the east bay. The Hakashi Roll and Melanie Roll are easily my favorites.

I came here with my family the other day. We ordered the shishito peppers and the tempura was the best. As well as some other nigiri’s. The Daigo shots were SO GOOD!! They definitely go out of their way to make sure everything you eat tastes the best. We also got a caraf of their cold house sake. Anyways we had a great experience. The chefs and the service was great. Zaw was very professional and kind.

This place is fantastic. Some of the best sushi and service I’ve ever had. We came in 30 mins before closing and probably stayed too long, but the staff and chef were still so accommodating and happy to serve.

Next time we plan to sit at the bar and let the chef pick the menu items for us, Omakase style! Will definitely be back. Highly recommend this spot to all sushi lovers in the area
