Elevated Chinese Food

Everything was spot on in terms of flavor. I’d describe it as clean and precise, not too powerful.

Seafood soup was clear and clean.
Duck was crispy, but the pancake was too powdery.
The pork and beef were tender.
Noodles were not too salty.
The sea cucumbers were soft.

Place was also clean. Would highly recommend, but service can be a bit slow, but we ate on a weekend, so it can be expected.

We held our gathering today at the Chinese restaurant Hai Shin Lou, and it was a wonderful experience.

Thanks to the restaurant’s generous support, we were able to enjoy an impressive variety of high-quality Chinese dishes at a very reasonable budget. I would especially like to thank the manager, Christine, who went above and beyond to design the best possible menu, carefully considering our budget, group size, and age range. Her thoughtfulness truly made the event special.

Everyone gathered around the round tables, enjoying great food and pleasant conversation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A highly recommended place for both food and hospitality.

I recently dined at Hai Shin Lou in Makati, and it was a delightful experience for authentic Chinese cuisine. The ambiance was elegant yet welcoming—great for family dinners or special occasions. We ordered chow fan, steamed shrimp, Peking duck, and mango sago, and each dish was served fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.

I was really impressed by the quality of the ingredients and how everything was cooked to perfection. The staff were attentive and professional, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable.

While the prices lean toward the higher side, the generous portions and excellent taste made it absolutely worth it. If you’re craving quality Chinese food in Makati, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Food – disappointing, very bad, comparing to the wild island resort… the price for the lobster here is 2 times higher, weight of it 2 times less, but taste… here is 3/10, and on the island it was 10/10. Very big difference, like I’m eating different food, but it were lobsters, same types…
Overpriced not tasty seafood, very bad experience.
What was good is service. Nice vibe from them.
Interior – dont like it at all, almost no windows, and feels like I’m on a ball… and small space.

What a wonderful way to enjoy great food with family and friends. This is my first time dining here but it came highly recommended by friends we met there. Our reservation was at 11 a.m. but by 11:30 a.m. the place was packed.
Food was good even though it’s a little pricey. Duck and pork dish was my favorite. Service was good as well but not excellent since you have to remind them to follow on drinks and other dishes we ordered. Overall the restaurant was clean and location was convenient for us living in San Lorenzo Barangay Makati.
I wouldn’t mind going back to try some of their other dishes we didn’t order.

Winner! Excellent Chinese food! The Peking duck and suckling pig are a must try! Service is commendable. Parking may be a challenge during peak hours.

Makati doesn’t have a lot of good Chinese restaurants so Hai Shin Lou is a good option if you don’t want to travel to Manila or Quezon city. The food here is good but isn’t cheap. The tables are round like in a lot of Chinese restaurants. The upstairs area is a bit more intimate and can be sectioned off for more privacy

Newly renovated place with authentic old style Cantonese cuisine with a bit of local tweaks (less spices, less salty). We got to try four dishes with lots of take home. Price range for Chinese food was a bit stiff but that’s Makati range.

Consistently good Chinese food in the Makati business district plus it has a classy and quiet atmosphere. Our group had Peking Duck (4/5); Fried calamares with chili pepper ( 5/5 crispy batter and tender squid meat) , breaded shrimp (4/5 ), steamed garoupa (2/5 -ginger was overwhelming) ), pork ” liempo” ( 5/5- tender meat, crispy skin), beef tenderloin in black pepper sauce ( 1/5 a disappointment considering it was highly recommended by the waiter . Beef was not tenderloin but more like tapa meat which was made tender by a meat pounder. No pepper taste, mushy brown sauce topped with raw onions) , stuffed fried eggplant ( 5/5 my all time favorite) , spinach and broccoli with garlic ( 2/5 – very bland), crab with scallions ( 3/5) .

Waiters were not attentive enough, considering the 2nd floor was not full.

For now it is not PWD/ Seniors friendly but an elevator is in the works.
