This was my first time in and first time ever trying Chamorro food – the folks at Hafa Adai helped me understand all of their offerings and even let me try samples to make sure I was happy with my order. Excellent service. I watched as they took care of everyone else in the restaurant too.
I got a lunch plate with the peppery pork and a chicken special that had the most delicious and tangy coconut milk sauce. Everything on my plate was phenomenal – so flavorful and tender. The lumpia and potato salad were great too. Rice with the side sauce poured on it was delicious as well. I also feel that they give you amazing proportions especially for the price.
I cannot recommend this spot enough and will absolutely be returning to try more of their food soon.
Beware if you order the “I want it all” plate there is a TON of delicious food!
If you are looking for something different for a date night, I HIGHLY recommend!!!
TL;DR: Chamoru here. The place is legit, the food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the family treats you like one of their own. Will be back for more.
This place is the real deal and reminded me of home! The potato salad almost made me tear up because it reminded me of my nana and how she used to make it before she passed. The portions are huge even for Guam standards and prices are very reasonable for what you get.
The family is from Hågat and although they haven’t been back home for a long while it doesn’t seem like it because they sure know what they’re doing in the kitchen and definitely haven’t forgotten their roots. Just like back home, they bring the Hafa Adai spirit to everything they do.
Service was exceptional, everything was done with a smile, patience and love. Choices were limited when we went around 330PM on a Saturday, but still had BBQ chicken, tinala katne and spareribs. All the sides were delicious too. Potato salad, chicken kelaguen, finadene cucumbers made just like we do back on Guam. I tried the short ribs on my second visit and it did not disappoint. There is an extra charge for it, but good to eat every now and then. The latiya is so good and even better than some of the bakeries back home!
Update: The empanadas are sooooo good especially when theyre fresh or take them home and toss them in the airfryer.
