First, the tequila menu doesn’t have any prices on it so we had to ask for them. Took the server a while to gather all of the prices but he did it without complaint and I’ve taken the liberty to post them in a picture.
Next, we all ordered our meals and they came accurately and pretty promptly.
Honestly, the food was decent. It was very fresh tasting, which I appreciate. The food wasn’t very spicy, which was a bit disappointing.
Anyhow, the food was well seasoned and fresh. I can say that everything was pretty good though, if your looking for something spicy, best go elsewhere.
It’s Mexican food, nothing special… but hits the spot! The fajitas were good, just a little too mushy on the peppers and onions. They also didn’t come sizzling like it usually does. Skirt steak tacos were a little tough to eat, but again it is what it is.
Service and atmosphere was great from outside to inside. A great place to relax and catch up with friends!
Food wasn’t a stand out but the service was great!
Our waiter told us they could still do burritos … so why remove them off the menu?! I’m baffled.
Then, said burrito was supposed to have queso blanco, and was covered instead in what looked and tasted like a jar of Tostitos queso. My steak fajita quesadilla was a big disappointment as well, the meat tasted nothing like fajita steak and was just super bland.
The meal’s only saving grace (besides the lovely service from our waiter) was the chocolate piñata, which looked and tasted awesome. I expected an overpriced gimmick and it was a bit pricey ($30), but it was actually pretty tasty and was a ton of food, we took home more than half. That dessert single-handedly bumped this review up a full star.
(Also annoyed that they sat everyone in the bar area, when we make a reservation we obviously want a nice table or booth, not a high top at the bar. However, I think they were extremely short-staffed so I get wanting to keep everyone in one area. Our waiter was great!)
Anyway, that’s the last time we’ll be dining at Hacienda. (Well, the chocolate piñata could convince me to come back.) Can’t believe it went so downhill! If you want Tex Mex, I’d recommend going to Chuy’s a few minutes away. Or at least get dinner at Chuy’s and the chocolate piñata at Hacienda.
Hot tip, nothing is that spicy, but i asked for a side of the house made habanero salsa and its.not all that spicy, but tasty!
Ready for this?
No more burritos
No more chimichangas
In picture 1 are the refried beans–usually thick, smoky, & delish…tonight were runny, pureed, bland, suitable for “drizzling” over my rice.
Picture 2, “Where’s my green chile???” Typically the chile rellenos are incredible–apparently they no longer put a CHILE in the CHILE RELLENO!! They toss in a few “chopped” (canned??) chiles. So basically a mildly chile flavored wrap.
3, my husband’s beans–not very appetizing either.
WHY, WHY, or WHY would they destroy what was basically perfect already?
Travis was great!
