What an incredibly satisfying dinner experience! I ordered the Tampiqueña and was genuinely impressed… well, with almost everything.
The plate arrived generously served on a rectangular platter that could barely contain it all. The grilled steak was perfectly prepared, with that characteristic dark sear that promises juiciness and flavor. It looked tender and had a nice thickness. Next to it, a grilled nopal that looked bright and appetizing, with that dark green color and those grill marks that give it such a distinctive smoky flavor.
The enchilada came covered with melted cheese that looked golden and gooey just as it should be. The charro beans in their separate bowl looked hearty and full of ingredients, with visible bacon adding that delicious smoky touch.
All the essential accompaniments were there: fresh flour tortillas and a crisp salad with lettuce and tomato. Everything served hot and with good portions.
Now, let’s be honest: the rice left a lot to be desired. It was mushy, as if it had been overcooked or left sitting for too long. It definitely wasn’t up to par with the rest of the dish.
The dim lighting in the restaurant created a cozy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying this traditional Mexican feast.
Rating: 8/10 – Excellent overall, but that rice urgently needs improvement.

We went to eat at Saunders yesterday. A waitress named Kimberly served us with excellent service. She was very helpful since it was our first time there. We came from San Antonio and didn’t speak Spanish. It’s great that they have bilingual staff with excellent customer service. The food was delicious tampiquena was delicious

The tacos were very good and they are made to order. The tacos had plenty of meat and flavor. The drinks they make look refreshing and are big. The waitress did take long to bring drinks and I had to remind her, it also took long for utensils and it wasn’t that busy. I would definitely come back because food is worth it.

The restaurant atmosphere is simple and clean. Ther service is provided by hard working simple ladies from Mexico. The food is excellent tasting with authentic Tex-Mex flavors, Large portions, and fair prices. I always ask for the green sauce or Salsa de Verde. My recommendation is always the parrillada which translates to BBQ specifically Mexican BBQ.

Our favorite in Laredo, and maybe in all of Texas. Arrived about 5:30 pm on Friday. Wasn’t very busy, but by the time we were leaving there was a good crowd. Started by serving us some chips and dips…not very large portions of chips, but filled them three times. Then was served a small appetizer dish with mashed potatoes, a light brown bean, and some green vegetable…need help with the name. We ordered the fresh fruit drinks…watermelon and strawberry…both are thirst quenchers. Then main serving, a kids cheese quesodilla with fries and rice, an order of beef fajita taquitos, and an order of fajita chicken taquitos (four each). Great service. None of us are very good at Spanish as the menu is in Spanish and only one on staff spoke English.

Mexican restaurant with a nice vibe, offering traditional dishes like tacos, parrilladas, enchiladas, smoothies and fruit water made at the moment. The food was just ok. We decided to give the Parrillada a try, but instead of chicken fajita we asked for Pastor and Carne asada, which came with bell peppers and onions. The food was a bit oily, but had a good flavor and texture, it also came with grilled nopal which had a nice flavor as well. As a side it includes rice and refried beans which were pretty good. Since the portion of the salsas were a bit small we ordered some extra, which usually is for free on other restaurants but here they charge you for it. The service is fast, the prices are accessible.

Great service… Food was so so, taquito a little dry, enchiladas were a little cold and the nopal was under cook for my taste. My wife’s plate was done the way she likes it. Nice place to eat, recommend it.

They took 15min to give me one fresh fruit drink. The place was empty with 1 table occupied and the man that made the drink had to call one of the waiters to hand me the drink. All the waiters were in the back. Very unprofessional staff. At least the drink was good. I do think it’s over priced compared to other places I go to.
