OMG ☺️ Most memorable time spent at a fine dining establishment! This place is marvelous! Seated with not just one, but three power couples, our cook was from Hawaii and only 18 years old . Sake was amazing, food magnificent . Seriously, a MUST DO with friends and family ✨

We had such a fantastic time at Hachiya! The restaurant’s design is beautiful and inviting. The hibachi cooking right in front of us was incredibly fun and entertaining; a real highlight of the evening! The food quality was excellent, and the staff were all so friendly and caring, making for a truly wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience! Food was not burnt and shrimp was fresh and tender. Not over cooked like yokoso. Steak was fresh and thick. Chef didnt take an hour to cook our meal. He knew how to cook rice! It was seasoned perfectly! He had 20 plus years experience! They even take reservations. Price is average $20 to $30 per person. Great place to have a nice meal! Enjoyed it very much.

10/10 great time. J- Pert was phenomenal, made sure we had an amazing meal and atmosphere, kept a smile on our face the whole time. Service was awesome, very attentive and meticulous. Would eat here again for the vibes and the food.

Food was delicious, atmosphere is nice, chefs aren’t as interactive as other Japanese steak houses I’ve visited. Would definitely go back again. Enjoyed the birthday special for my 13yr old.

The decor in the front section of this restaurant was nice, but the service and food were lacking & the wait time was way longer than we were told. (Est 15 mins) Ordered at 7:24pm, put in their system at 7:29pm, by 8 pm, the food was finally ready and sitting at front desk after about 10 mins (the food was getting cold) Someone finally showed up to let us pay…We ordered a ribeye (med rare, but was tough and grayish pink ) and shrimp hibachi (super bouncy texture) a salad with “white” sauce, a salad with ginger sauce (accidentally gave ranch instead of ginger ), and a California roll (tasted pretty good, but looked like it had been dropped or shaken). Super disappointed…the front desk people were nice but I believe someone from mgmt came up and went straight to a screen behind the desk (I thought maybe to take payment bc the hostess said she was going to get someone so I could pay for our meal. Not even eye contact and apparently, not the person to take payment either…then, my favorite, someone else hands over the pay thing to tap and it has a pre-set tip…I did leave a tip, but i was not happy about it. Normally, I’d talk to the restaurant before leaving a review, but not sure they’d even care.

We came to Hachiya on New Year’s Eve to celebrate and were not disappointed! It was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back! While there was quiet a crowd for the holiday, we were able to find parking rather quickly and had only a short wait once inside. Staff was super friendly, and very accommodating to my shellfish allergy when it came time to cook our meal as well. Super kid friendly, we chose to eat at the grill and they provided us a booster seat for our toddler. He was given a coloring menu and a balloon with his ice cream after our meal. Portions were well worth the price and we had plenty to take home after. Bathrooms were clean as well!

One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been! The ramen and sweet tea were both so flavorful and the service was excellent! I also love their green tea ice cream, sushi, and some appetizers. Everything was delicious! The restaurant looked so elegant and quiet with a lot of privacy, perfect for large groups for birthday, a date, or any celebration! A reservation is definitely encouraged (for hibachi) though we just walked in because we only wanted ramen- definitely no regrets! This hidden gem is a must try in Charleston and I can’t recommend it enough!
