Salmon & Tuna sashimi & sushi are very tender and fresh. Amazing!
The yellow tail carpaccio is a must have. We had the perfect scallop skewers and shiitake mushroom skewers!! the fried pork fillet is very good too!
From the moment you walk in, there’s a distinct sense of care, professionalism, and design. You can tell when a space is created with love: the layout, the ambiance, the flow of service, it’s a different culture altogether. The greeting alone sets the tone for what’s to come.
It’s hard to say enough about both the service and the food, they’re consistently excellent.
But to be honest: we initially came for the viral Honey Toast. And yes, if you’re lactose intolerant, take the pill, it is absolutely worth it! Indulgent, perfect combination of flavors and unforgettable.
Thoughtful, delicious, and memorable from start to finish. Highly recommended.
We tried numerous skewers: some came out a bit overcooked, making the chicken and scallop a bit dry and tough. Still, the flavors on the yakitori (like the one with yuzu kosho) were nice. The takoyaki (not pictured) had too much sauce and was salty, but the bed of egg mayo on the bottom of the dish made it more unique to this restaurant.
Overall, the izakaya experience is always fun for a low-key night out!
But it’s so worth it! We had the perfectly grilled beef tongue and pork cheek, crispy yet wonderfully springy. The combo of the sashimi bowl with an extra eel skewer was pure satisfaction. The chicken wings were so aromatic we ended up devouring six skewers, haha!
I also loved the mochi cheese bacon has airy, crispy texture. And as always, the mocha ice cream is the perfect happy ending to an incredible meal.
However, there was a guy in charge of the skewers, and the chicken skin skewer I ordered took 40 minutes to come out — completely burnt. The server didn’t even apologize or ask if it was okay. Instead, they insisted “that’s how it’s supposed to be,” but anyone could see it was way overcooked. If the server had just smiled and handled it nicely, I would have enjoyed the experience, but their attitude was unbelievably rude. It felt like, “We’re busy anyway, so if you don’t like it, leave.” Absolutely terrible service — especially considering we spent over $250 for just two people.
At the end, the server brought the payment device to the table and stood there while I paid. The tip screen didn’t allow custom input — only 20%, 25%, or 30%. Honestly ridiculous. I always tip at least 18% wherever I go, but this time it felt like such a waste because the server did nothing. They didn’t even check on us or ask if we needed anything throughout the meal, yet they walk away with 20% of $250. With service like this, I can easily see this restaurant losing customers.
With that said, all the food we ordered were great. Notable for me is the yellow tail carpaccio and the oysters . This izakaya is one of the best i had in town. I felt like i was back in an alley way in Shimbashi, Tokyo eating the same items there. The atmosphere is very much like an izakaya in Japan so it felt very authentic. The staff were friendly and service was good. Our food were served reasonably fast.
