Overall: perfect. The only complaint is finding parking, which is true for any spot DT.
I loved the traditional Japanese greeting upon entering & exit. It felt so welcoming.
Staff were polite and were always available when we needed them. The kitchen sent dishes out fast and fresh. Everything we had was excellent.
Highly recommend for an authentic izakaya experience.

When I heard Japanese Izakaya I knew I had to try. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere reminded me of Japan, servers can in fact speak Japanese. I had the “Trio Bowl” for my main little dish which had salmon, spicy tuna, and scallops. Prices were reasonable and allowed you to order a bunch of different dishes.

Hachi is a hidden gem. Very reasonable prices for the quality you get, the food tastes authentic and well executed. The environment is clean, comfortable, and relaxing, not noisy or rushed. Every dish we tried was fresh and well prepared.
Definitely a great spot if you’re looking for good Japanese food at a fair price. Worth coming back again.

I love Japanese food, especially sashimi, and upgrading to otoro was a great decision. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious.

I’ve been here a couple of times now and have had a good experience both times. They have a great selection of food that everyone can enjoy. The prices are very reasonable and the food comes out pretty quickly. I found out that they are the parent company of a couple of other restaurants that I like (in town and in Vegas). The people working here are friendly and attentive. I was able to try a good amount of items that were not seafood related – some of their skewers, which I really enjoyed the tsukune (with poached egg) and pork with negi shio. The beef skirt steak and karaage were also delightful. Their sukiyaki hot pot bowl was also a good compliment to everything. I also liked that they have a Mega Highball that you can order (34 oz). Overall, great place in the downtown area to go to.

Okay, I’ve had sushi all around the world, but Hachi was a completely different and ethereal experience for me. My husband and I ended up getting several small plates to share (think tapas!) and it was like each bite was even better than the last. Takoyaki? Creamy. Agedashi tofu? Perfectly crispy. I had my first bite of wagyu EVER and it was heavenly. The best bite we had? The otoro. When I say it was one of the top three bites I’ve had in my life, I’m not kidding. It was so good we ordered it twice. If you come here you have to treat yourself to it! We think about this spot often (we don’t live super close by) and I’m sure next time we’re in the area we’ll make sure we stop again, if only for the otoro. Five stars, easily!

Very friendly restraunt with a square interior. When you walk in they always say hi to you as a crew. Their menu is extensive with many types of cuisine. I recomend this place because it is so fresh and well prepared that you will enjoy whatever you choose. They also have many sake selections for those who want to try a lot of types of sake by the glass. I imagine they take reservations but we’ve never had one when we’ve gone.

Came here on a Saturday right as they were opening (12pm) and did not have issues getting a table. The three of us ordered too much food: 8 piece karaage, yellow tail carpaccio, beef tartar, sushi special, chicken yakitori x3, grilled squid and wagyu. There was only one server and 1 host for the entire dining area. I felt bad for them but they did an excellent job. Food came out quick. My favorite dish was the yellow tail carpaccio. My least favorite was the karaage – the breading just did not seem right for it. My 13 year enjoyed it so that’s all that matters.

This place was such a pleasant surprise during our trip. The food tasted great, the prices were reasonable, and it felt like a very authentic Japanese restaurant. The rice bowl in the photo originally came with tuna, scallops, and salmon. Since I don’t eat tuna, I asked to replace it with salmon, and it worked perfectly. The portion was generous and the price was very fair.
Another must-order item is the small sukiyaki pot, which was just a little over eight dollars. It was surprisingly good, even though I forgot to take a photo. These two dishes were definitely the highlights for me.

My partner and I decided to have dinner here, because the restaurant we were planning to go to had a long wait. We had to wait about 4 mins before we were seated. We ordered the karaage, yakitori, garlic seared tuna, lava salmon to share. The yakitori was good, but the rest of the dishes weren’t. Both tuna and salmon were watery and the so-called award winning karaage wasn’t juicy at all. I was still hungry but decided to leave early for 2 reasons: 1. A fruit fly was flying near our table. 2. The old Japanese lady sitting next to me was too loud (maybe because the tables were too close to each other.) I don’t think we’ll go back.
