So long KFC, the Habit took over the building that was a KFC. It’s newly remodeled to mirror a typical Habit, but this one has a drive thru. Looks brand new. It opened up a few months ago in the summer. Sure I’ve had some hiccups with them; missed item in my drive thru order, longer than desired wait time in the drive thru. But they have improved soooo much and keep doing so. Well all the while, the food has been delicious and the customer service has been sincere, friendly, and earnest.
They are located right off Highway 50, Cameron Park Drive exit north. The Habit is a franchise eatery, type of fast food (FF). This location has a drive thru. Not all locations do. Inside they have two ordering kiosks. But if you want to have a human take your order, they have staff willing to accommodate that.
The hamburgers are charbroiled. Ohh yes to get that flame grilled flavor. Mmm. The menu is pretty diverse; not your typical FF same olds. My faves besides the Charburger is the ahi tuna burger, portabella Charburger, Santa Barbara Cobb salad, onion rings, and fries. Pricing is on par with the major FF chains. The salad servings are huge; enough for two. If you want to spice things up, checkout the complimentary pepper condiment bar; it has various peppers to choose from with various heat levels.
Also if you go through the drive thru, just pack some patient and remember the food is cooked to order and not sitting under heat lamps. They have significantly improved the drive thru wait time, but won’t be as quick as their FF counterparts that prepare the food ahead of time and warmer tray their food. Plus when they forgot an item in my drive thru order; they apologized and offered to make a fresh order plus giving the current one.

Seems like a lot of these bad reviews were from right when they opened. Yes, sometimes the line is long. But that’s because the food is good! And $16 for a meal is comparable to other spots nearby of lesser quality. Also, tempura green beans. Delicious.

So excited to have a Habit Burger in Cameron Park! This was a huge upgrade over the KFC that was previously in this space.
It’s been busy during the last couple of opening weeks, but eating lunch on a Saturday was easy peasy today.
I was greeted when I walked in and my order was promptly taken. I love that you get a buzzer so you know when your order is ready.
Burgers are delicious and I love the fries!
I’m sure we will eat here often at our local Habit.

$9 a Burger, or $16 for the meal is steep for fast food. Was delicious yea, but it was also so small, I could eat two of those but would need to take a loan out for that. Then they have the audacity to ask for a tip ! Turn that tip option off, customers hate it and feel if we don’t tip they’ll do something to our food.

Nice to have one in cameron park, lot closer to home for me than other locations. There still getting themselves situated, but staff is friendly, food is amazing, you can openly see everyone wearing gloves and being safe with the food as it’s made. Self serve machines aren’t up yet but im sure they will be soon. Overall happy to see their opening going so well. Lots of business coming and going so be prepared, everyone’s excited to try! 😀

Ive visited about 6 times now. My son loves the teriyaki burger, portobello burger, green beans. I had the patty melt and was very pleased. Rye bread! I’ll go back for more.
I gave 4 stars based on prices. But this is a nice place to get food.

Ordered them realized I could’ve gotten a free kids meal. Manager said I need to order more, I say, “Goodbye”. Plus, the Baja Chicken sandwich looked like it had ½ the chicken that the image represented, and a bit overcooked, like the rings.

I ordered from the kiosk, and my food was ready in just 6 minutes. The double char with cheese and the onion rings tasted great, and the clerk at the counter was really friendly. I’ll be coming back here again – it saves me a trip all the way to Folsom.

All I can say is WOW…and not in a good way. I’ve been a huge Habit fan for years and hold my own against my “In n Out is hand down the best!” friends. Having said that, I’ve been to the new Cameron Park location twice on the way down the hill on Hwy 50 and it’s honestly the worst. I think they must cook the meat way before it’s ordered because both times the patties were cold and hard, Not good!!! The other locations I’ve been to have always been hot and fresh, which makes the burger. Not sure what’s going on in the kitchen of the CP location but it will be out of business within a year if they don’t fix it. JMHO. It took 15 minutes to get two burgers and there were only three cars ahead of us. Server at drive thru was very nice though.

Update: Was in the other day and Shawn was the BIGGEST help! Asked if I already had my cups for my online order, checked in with us to see how we liked our meal (which had been GREAT so it was an easy answer). They are always busy and every time I have sen Shawn she has things under control and is always friendly!
