Came here with my family on our last day in Halifax, where we had a good and inexpensive lunch. I really liked my vegetarian burrito with guacamole, which came with chips, salsa, and a drink as I ordered a combo. Although this is not a typical Mexican place, something they themselves admit, I enjoyed my meal a lot, and I say this as someone who loves Mexican food.

I really like this location of Habaneros! I’ve been there many times before the pandemic, and I always had a good time there. Today we ordered 3 tacos, a burrito, and 2 quesadillas. The food was great, the price was decent, and the portions were big!! Even their tacos were like 3 small burritos lol
I especially love their chicken quesadilla, burritos, carrots pickled, and mango sour cream. Yummy! Definitely will order food from them again.

I was very excited to realize there was one of these near my work so I could go on my lunch, but it was just ok in the end. You always know there is a good food place when you see large lineups and this place had a large, and very slow moving lineup. Not sure if maybe the staff could have streamlined things a bit better to keep things moving along. I ordered a chicken curry bowl and wasn’t at all impressed with the chicken. Almost inedible. The rest of the ingredients were top shelf though, and I did generally enjoy the food. My friend gets the quesadillas and she loves them. I love the regular burrito bowls too. They are awesome. I will still come back here.

The large burrito bowl makes a light meal for two or a meal and a half for one for a fair price. When I go to habaneros, I always get the large burrito bowl with pork carnitas to share. You’re also able to choose the type or rice and toppings that go with your dish and even the type of sauce. Despite being a fast food chain, the burrito bowl is tasty and you can make it your own by adding in toppings to your liking.

I enjoyed the food. I was travelling and I’m gluten free and didn’t have a reaction to the beef burrito bowl. However the restaurant was insanely hot even when it wasn’t hot outside. I’d say it’s a very good option for gluten free travellers, but don’t plan to eat there inside it’s like a sauna. I ate my meal in the public gardens across the street which was very nice.
