My friends, our kids and I came in on a Friday night after a basketball game. Everybody was tired, hungry and ready to grub! There were 9 of us. We got there around 9:00. A few other customers were there but not many. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. (You know how it is when it’s the end of the night and you show up when employees are ready to go home. they could’ve easily had an attitude, but they didn’t… at least no one rolled their eyes in our faces lol)
Anywho, we ordered and our food was ready in what seemed like 5 minutes. No joke! I ordered the vegetarian burrito plate with no cheese — cause I don’t eat animals (No judgement lol) It was delicious! My friends ordered a shrimp plate and steak plates. I ain’t even gonna lie, that sizzlin flesh was looking tempting
All in all, we had a great experience and hope you will too.

Habaneros Mexican Grill is an absolute gem and easily one of the best spots for Mexican food in the area. The food is wonderful—fresh, flavorful, and consistently well prepared. Every dish comes out hot and delicious, and you can tell quality and care go into everything they serve. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, making it a great place to relax whether you’re dining with family, friends, or stopping in while passing through.
What truly sets Habaneros apart is the manager, Roberto. He is the heart of this place. Roberto and his staff go above and beyond to make sure every guest is satisfied, comfortable, and receiving the best service possible. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality make you feel like more than just a customer.
And the margaritas—absolutely amazing. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and some of the best you’ll find anywhere. Whether you live in the area or are just passing through, Habaneros Mexican Grill is a must-stop. I highly recommend it to everyone looking for great food, outstanding service, and an all-around excellent dining experience.

Phenomenal. By far a grand slam! Prices are beating the competition and the quality of the food is to. I eat Mexican everyday and working in Birmingham it’s been different ones everytime! This is saved in the maps and will always be first choice.

We’ve eaten at Habaneros in Trussville for many years and have always had excellent food and service at an affordable price. Today was a sad exception. I ordered four meals for pick up. The conversation took much longer than necessary because the woman couldn’t understand me. Every time I said chicken, she said steak. When I asked her to repeat the order, she got snippy. They usually do it automatically. When received, there was one enchilada meal (not ordered) and NO quesadillas (two meals ordered). This is a special day for our friend and her bed-ridden son who are in a nursing home. We had no choice but to reorder and drive 20 minutes to get it. I tried to reorder, she was outrageously rude, cut me off and said “and two sweet teas”. I said. “Ma’am, I didn’t order sweet tea”. I told her I needed to talk to someone who spoke English and she begrudgingly got one. I placed the order, but when friend went back to get it she rudely told him that the first order was right and they wouldn’t redo it. She said manager wasn’t in; I can’t wait until he or she is. We can’t be the only ones who had to deal with this hateful person. Again, all workers we have dealt with in the past have been pleasant and efficient.

The food was very mediocre. I had chicken tacos and the shredded chicken tasted boiled and washed out. No real flavor. As wet as the chicken was it tasted dry and no seasoning. The salsa was not very good I would rate it a two. The guacamole salad was good but I will never understand serving shredded lettuce, guacamole and a tomato slice on plate that you can’t touch. My wife had a chicken quesadilla and it was burnt in places. The grilled chicken on the quesadilla was superior to the mush on the crunchy taco but the random burnt pieces sprinkled throughout were a real disappointment. Service was fast but not detail oriented. I asked for sliced fresh jalapenos on my guac salad and it was skipped. I never received my to go unsweet tea. But I did use a childes cup and made my own since the server never came back. Chairs up and mopping before closing time tells me I need to get the hell out so I was disappointed by that. 830pm. Sorry no photos. I would happily pay more for higher quality proteins.

My wife and I arrived at 8:40pm. Restaurant closes at 9. They told me they were closed (I don’t mind if you close at 8:30- just don’t advertise 9!). They were rude about it to boot. I could have had my taco and a marg before 9- their loss too- it tip well.

Was a little disappointed in lack of flavor. My heart doctor would be thrilled either lack of salt in everything but it needed a touch.Salsa was nothing to talk about. Ordered guacamole and was disappointed in less than fresh creamy blended bowl that was not good. Got chicken fajita that came out hot and chicken was not dry. But lacked any kind of seasoning. Don’t get that in a Mexican place- the guacamole not being fresh or lack of basic seasonings.

The food was ok but I really think I was overcharged and wish I pushed back. Two lunch meals, queso, a kids chicken tender and lemonade was $68?? These servers writing down random prices in hard to read handwriting. Add up your own meal from the menu if you go. I just ended up tipping less.

Ate here while charging the car⚡. Pretty good version of the chain. Service was pretty good. Had the fiesta taco salad in Texan style. Not as good as I had been told. Not bad, but not great.
