I was thrilled to find this place took EBT. But when I sat down and ate I had my own drink. The elderly male worker, who I can only assume was the owner yelled at me “I hope that’s not alcohol!” in an Asian accent. Very hostile. Regardless if it was or not it was covered. The hostility was absolutely unacceptable. Obviously he has no skill in customer service. At his age he should know what customer service is and how to approach customers if he has concerns about anything they bring on the premises. I feel this was just a business owners EBT discrimination. Wonder what he’s going to say to the Health department. Uhhg so many violations I saw!!! Definitely needs a health inspection.

Their dining area is closed. The fish was delicious, hot and crispy not oily (made to order). The chips were hot and crispy but don’t forget to ask for salt on the side, they don’t salt them. Upgraded them to a 5⭐ although the 3pcs went up a dollar since last year but what hasn’t. It’s still very reasonable compared to other fish & chips restaurants. It tasted exactly how I remember. Got my fish chips fix for now.

The fish was good, it was nice and crispy. The chips on the other hand were kind of soggy when we ate them 20 minutes later, it also needed salt. There were only two tables if you dined in. It’s not in a great area and the inside didn’t look so great. But we went there for the fish. The prices were also good. Nine dollars for 3 fish and chips. Their aren’t to many H Salt Fish & Chips restaurants anymore. It’s still pretty much tasted the same as I remember. We would definitely come back when I’m craving for fish and chips.

Great place to eat!!! First time customer of H.Salt and I have to say I will be back ASAP. Got the fish combo with shrimp rings and onion wheels. Food was tasty and fast. Our food was cooked to order and our group got to smell the food while it was cooking. When you go make sure to take your friends!

I thought this H Salt Fish & Chips was no longer here. Then when looking on Google Maps to see if the North Hollywood restaurant was open I saw directions to the San Fernando location. I immediately read some reviews from both locations and every comment lead me to this location. The fish was so good. It didn’t taste like old oil. The menu is big with a variety of sides. I’m definitely going back soon since I got there 15 mins before closing.

Greasy tables. Rude K person. He didn’t want to work, seemed he felt he was being bothered when you ordered. Fish was ok. Guy (cook/maybe owner?) didn’t want to hand you the ketchup, tartar sauce, vinegar. Doesn’t give you receipt. I liked it better when the lady was in charge. The man here is just too rough and brusque. No etiquette but then again it’s a hole in the wall. Courtesy always count!

Man, I was so excited when I saw this but the place was dirty, and looks like no one has cared in a long time. Real kicker though was the tartar sauce wasn’t good in a place that only does fish and chips, the ketchup seemed watered down, the fish was chewy like it had sat out and got dry and there was no malt vinegar to be seen.
Not good, not horrible, I love fish and chips, maybe I just had high expectations from a place that specializes, but I felt let down.
