Came here with my husband for the first time and we had such a great experience! The presentation of the meat was beautiful — served in wooden boxes and looked so fancy. The quality was amazing, especially the wagyu, so tender and flavorful.
Our waiter was very nice, friendly, and attentive. She made sure we were comfortable and explained everything clearly since it was our first time.

Gyusan Japanese BBQ and Sushi in Columbia left a strong impression on my first visit, strong enough that I felt compelled to write a review afterward. It already feels like a place I will return to regularly.
The space is large, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with great lighting and a polished but comfortable atmosphere. It works well for both date nights and family dinners.
Gyusan is currently in a soft launch phase, so a few items may not always be available yet. A membership program is also in development, which should offer reduced pricing over time.
Service was a highlight. Ellena did an excellent job explaining the all you can eat format, pacing our orders so we did not overload the grill, and keeping everything running smoothly. The table stayed organized, water glasses were always filled, and nothing was overlooked.
We chose the Master’s all you can eat menu at 78 dollars per person and added sushi for 5 dollars more. Ordering is done through a tablet at the table, with a brief delay between rounds that never felt restrictive.
The menu offers a wide selection of meats, seafood, vegetables, and sides. The premium Wagyu bucket is limited to one per person, which makes sense given the quality and richness. It arrives with a dramatic dry ice presentation, and the beef itself is well worth slowing down for.
Standouts included the tuna tartare and Japanese wings, both of which we reordered. Grill items were consistently strong, especially the pork belly and hanger steak. The sushi was fresh and well assembled, holding its own alongside the barbecue.
For this style of dining, the pricing feels appropriate for the quality, setting, and service. When compared to other grill at the table concepts nearby, Gyusan feels more refined overall.

For reference, came during lunch time on a weekday. Relatively slow. Solo dining experience.
Food: their menu is extremely extensive and for only 5 dollars more you can do ayce sushi! I opted out of the sushi as I was dining solo and didn’t think I could eat as much. I opted for the legend which included special meats section A and B. These sections consisted of A5, US and AU wagyu. Honestly that section alone made me extremely full and I felt like I got my money’s worth. The wagyu melts in your mouth and is so tender. The sauces provided pair perfectly with each bite. There’s a plethora of sauces to choose from ranging from sweet to savory. I also ordered the A5 Wagyu Uni Sushi (extremely large piece) and Salmon Carpaccio. Definitely recommend doing the legend option as you can literally pick from anything on the menu.
Service: I had the privilege of being served by Ellena and she was absolutely marvelous. She went above and beyond in asking if it was my first time dining there (it was) and then breaking down the menu. She was attentive to allergies and immediately knew which items had peanuts in it so I was extremely thankful for that. She also took the time to grill the meat for me and even made sure to keep a pace that I was comfortable with so I didn’t feel too rushed. She went out of her way to make sure I had the best dining experience and even offered recommendations on which sauces to pair cuts of meat with. So thankful for her amazing job!
Atmosphere: The atmosphere itself is fabulous. There are sword decorations along with a sushi counter in the middle that makes you feel as if you were transported to Tokyo!
Overall I highly recommend gyusan for the quality of food, the amount of food, and the luxurious atmosphere. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a night out it’s a great place to go and well worth the price.

Sophia was our lovely server who helped us with everything. Always checking and making sure we got what we needed.
When they found out i was celebrating my birthday they came and sang me a happy birthday which was so much fun! I loved the whole moment of it. Sophia even asked for my name so she can input it in the digital banner above their bar and it says happy birthday queen cyril! Such a lovely touch to an already happy celebration!

However, it might be due to the soft opening still some items we ordered never came even though we told the server and he said he would go check. And they don’t have any desserts on the lists yet. I would give it a little bit more time then we would come back for special occasions as the price is a little high. But overall we had a really great time.

This was my second time here. My sister and I loved it so much. The food was amazing, and Thuy Bui was an amazing server. She was so kind, polite, sweet, and adorable. I loved my experience at Gyusan! I made a reservation and was seated right away when I arrived, which was a great start. My server Eric was super helpful explaining the menu and was constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. I really appreciated the wide variety of options on the AYCE menu, from appetizers to all the different cuts of meat.
Service was fast, and I never felt like we were waiting on food. Eric was very attentive and even helped our group cook the meat, which made the experience even better. Overall, the quality of the meat was amazing for the price, and everything we tried was flavorful and delicious. The food was absolutely delicious and top quality. The Wagyu beef BBQ was a standout—so tender it just melted in my mouth. And the real surprise hit for us was the Wagyu beef burger—juicy, flavorful, and with just the right texture. My husband even joked he wants to order 10 next time!
