Highly recommended place.
The meat is very high quality, amazing taste. Cleanliness is spot on. Service is extremely friendly and welcoming and best thing is you come and leave and no smell sticks to you. I was happy with everything we ordered l, really nothing was mediocre. Everthg was super tasty. Best quality/price combo.

I would also like to mention how happy I was with the service provided by ACESU! He was really friendly, patient, took the time to explain to us and help us choose and his recommendations were spot on. He’s not like usual waiters who just recommend the most expensive thing on the menu, in contrary, he recommends what goes with ur taste and needs, always smiling, genuine hospitality! Kudos to his service

A Fun First Experience.

This was my very first visit to Gyu-Kaku, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience! I was pleasantly surprised to find good vegetarian options on the menu, which made it easy for me to enjoy the meal comfortably.

The restaurant was extremely clean, with no lingering food smells at all — something I truly appreciated. The ambience was cheerful and lively, yet still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the meal. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in.

The service was impressively quick. One staff member (I wish I had gotten his name!) was exceptionally knowledgeable. Since it was my first time, he patiently explained the menu and how the DIY grilling works, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated that they proactively asked about seafood allergies — very thoughtful and responsible.

The DIY grilling was genuinely fun — interactive, engaging, and a great way to enjoy the meal. They offered forks as as well, along with chopsticks.
I ordered veggie spring rolls, broccoli, seasoned cucumber (was very tasty and flavorful), zucchini and cheese wantons. My friends ordered seasoned shrimp and chicken. For dessert it was chocolate lava ice cream and strawberry mochi .
On a side note, I later realized that seafood allergies can sometimes be triggered even by fumes, as shrimp release tropomyosin, which can cause allergic reactions and I ended up with a slight one towards the evening.

Overall, a wonderful first experience with great service, cleanliness, and a lively atmosphere.

Love this place!! Not the same as Gyukaku in Japan but still tasty. We were happy to have Asahi Super Dry. Wished for some of the veggies we could get in Japan but so glad for the enoki!!! The drinks are good and made to order. I was able to ask for less sweet and it was very nice. Everyone was very kind and sweet. Love how they yell out greetings in Japan, very authentic Last time we were there the music was super loud, this time much more bearable – loud enough to make it a fun atmosphere but not so loud we had to yell. Go if you haven’t!!!

We tried the Japanese BBQ set for three and it was more than enough food we all left full. The grilling experience was fun, and the variety of meats kept it interesting. Some cuts were nicely marinated and tender, but overall still enjoyable once grilled properly.

The side items (cheese, peppers, marinade foil-wrapped items like mushroom) added a nice change of flavour during the meal. Cooking everything at the table is part of the fun here, and the grill stays hot. The person who serves us guided us on time to cook each type of meat. That was very thoughtful.

The highlight at the end was definitely the ice cream the matcha flavour was the clear winner at our table, but the vanilla and taro were good too.

Service was friendly and quick, and the pacing between dishes worked well no waiting around.

Would come back and maybe try a different meat selection next time.

After a year, I finally ate again at my favorite Japanese restaurant. It still feels the same as the first time I came here. I ordered the spicy pork and beef yaki shabu, still my top choice. The flavor hits right every time.

The staff are polite and attentive. The music fits the mood and adds to the vibe. The place feels comfortable and familiar.

One funny downside. This place reminds me of someone who introduced it to me and is no longer part of my life. That said, no regrets. The food and the experience stay solid.

Overall, a great visit. A must try.

Service was excellent. Server was quick and considerate (he asked if we wanted tea when we arrived because it was cold outside, and offered menu suggestions) – sorry I wish I caught your name!
Food was decent, beef was very good – the cheaper marinated cuts were actually best. Chicken we found was a bit lacking flavor and takoyaki was just so-so, meat piece inside was a good size but dough on the inside was quite mushy and didnt taste the greatest (might just be preference).
Overall service and marinated beef were good, so we would come back again – just note you need to call ahead/reserve most days to be guaranteed a table. (Umakara – the marinated one with sweet sauce was very good as a side note)

The food great but,The drinks here stole the show. They were absolutely amazing. My wife got the Soju Deep blue. I had the plain Soju version and loved.

This was my first Korean BBQ experience. The food was okay, but it was fun to “cook” ourselves over the little grill.

I had the shrimp and zucchini. I enjoyed the zucchini, and had no trouble cooking it. I was a little apprehensive about the shrimp because the grill is not particularly hot and I’m accustomed to flames when I’m grilling (ha… this is a personal preference) so I wasn’t all that comfortable eating the shrimp.

My husband and son enjoyed their meat lovers experience!

We also had pina colada and lychee punch.

This place is NOT for people who have food allergies as there is one grill per table.

3 of us ordered the 3 person set, server tried hard to talk us out of it, said it’s a challenge. It ealws not. Was a good amount of food for 3 hungry people, noodles and rice were excellent, the green salad is not.. Tokyo tea isn’t good but we knew that when we ordered it.

The food and service were excellent. The food was delicious. However, the music selection in the restaurant was poor. I wish they had music that was more in keeping with Japanese culture, the ambiance would be better. And the music was way too loud. Other than that, everything was great.
