The meat is very high quality, amazing taste. Cleanliness is spot on. Service is extremely friendly and welcoming and best thing is you come and leave and no smell sticks to you. I was happy with everything we ordered l, really nothing was mediocre. Everthg was super tasty. Best quality/price combo.
I would also like to mention how happy I was with the service provided by ACESU! He was really friendly, patient, took the time to explain to us and help us choose and his recommendations were spot on. He’s not like usual waiters who just recommend the most expensive thing on the menu, in contrary, he recommends what goes with ur taste and needs, always smiling, genuine hospitality! Kudos to his service
This was my very first visit to Gyu-Kaku, and it turned out to be such a memorable experience! I was pleasantly surprised to find good vegetarian options on the menu, which made it easy for me to enjoy the meal comfortably.
The restaurant was extremely clean, with no lingering food smells at all — something I truly appreciated. The ambience was cheerful and lively, yet still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the meal. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in.
The service was impressively quick. One staff member (I wish I had gotten his name!) was exceptionally knowledgeable. Since it was my first time, he patiently explained the menu and how the DIY grilling works, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated that they proactively asked about seafood allergies — very thoughtful and responsible.
The DIY grilling was genuinely fun — interactive, engaging, and a great way to enjoy the meal. They offered forks as as well, along with chopsticks.
I ordered veggie spring rolls, broccoli, seasoned cucumber (was very tasty and flavorful), zucchini and cheese wantons. My friends ordered seasoned shrimp and chicken. For dessert it was chocolate lava ice cream and strawberry mochi .
On a side note, I later realized that seafood allergies can sometimes be triggered even by fumes, as shrimp release tropomyosin, which can cause allergic reactions and I ended up with a slight one towards the evening.
Overall, a wonderful first experience with great service, cleanliness, and a lively atmosphere.
The side items (cheese, peppers, marinade foil-wrapped items like mushroom) added a nice change of flavour during the meal. Cooking everything at the table is part of the fun here, and the grill stays hot. The person who serves us guided us on time to cook each type of meat. That was very thoughtful.
The highlight at the end was definitely the ice cream the matcha flavour was the clear winner at our table, but the vanilla and taro were good too.
Service was friendly and quick, and the pacing between dishes worked well no waiting around.
Would come back and maybe try a different meat selection next time.
The staff are polite and attentive. The music fits the mood and adds to the vibe. The place feels comfortable and familiar.
One funny downside. This place reminds me of someone who introduced it to me and is no longer part of my life. That said, no regrets. The food and the experience stay solid.
Overall, a great visit. A must try.
Food was decent, beef was very good – the cheaper marinated cuts were actually best. Chicken we found was a bit lacking flavor and takoyaki was just so-so, meat piece inside was a good size but dough on the inside was quite mushy and didnt taste the greatest (might just be preference).
Overall service and marinated beef were good, so we would come back again – just note you need to call ahead/reserve most days to be guaranteed a table. (Umakara – the marinated one with sweet sauce was very good as a side note)
I had the shrimp and zucchini. I enjoyed the zucchini, and had no trouble cooking it. I was a little apprehensive about the shrimp because the grill is not particularly hot and I’m accustomed to flames when I’m grilling (ha… this is a personal preference) so I wasn’t all that comfortable eating the shrimp.
My husband and son enjoyed their meat lovers experience!
We also had pina colada and lychee punch.
This place is NOT for people who have food allergies as there is one grill per table.
