This location offers AYCE, but I usually go for the happy hour deals instead. The shishito peppers, tuna poke nachos, and the mushroom medley are good starters!

Avoid this restaurant if you can. Salad was not fresh with mildew spot. And the chicken was very dry not fresh and almost looks dark. Besides, we successfully placed the order online 20 mins ahead and paid in full. However, we were told the order was not confirmed and let us wait another 15 mins when we got there picking up. And eventually only partial meal ordered was included in the take up bag. Awful take-out food experience. ;(

We have a good time with our friends here, meat and appetizers keep good quality, but the quality of service is just ok, they have problems about short of staff & training about Japanese BBQ service. The grill should be checked & replaced while been using for a while, but they didn’t, the server or our table staff are so busy for running between tables and kitchen for delivery dishes. She forgetting checking about the drink & food satisfaction status at our table. Our drinks are way too sweet for us but we don’t have a chance to talk about it with our server.

The service at San Jose one was very horrible. I had the reservation by Sunday 12:30 and no one at reception for more than 5 minutes when we arrived. The server asked us to wait for another 5 minutes after we finally found the only one server at this restaurant. The food is okay. There is no service at this restaurant, most of the tables will need to chase after server for ordering food, water, grill change and no one comes to clean the table from beginning to the end. Totally ignored customers. You can come if you want to experience “no service” or “to be ignored” at this restaurant. The Cupertino one is much better.

After a business meeting, we decided to give this place a try. 7 of us enter Gyu-Kaku and waited 5 minutes with no one coming up to seat us. A member of our group, a Maasai Elder from Kenya, needed to use the restroom and went to use it. That’s when Phillip came out of hiding and without asking if he needed help or anything else, told him that he needed to leave and that the bathroom is for paying guests only. Then when we called out saying he was with us and we had a fairly large group for this place Phillip tried to back pedal and say he was just looking out for his safety… Phillip was extremely rude and racist. We all left and went to get food elsewhere.

Worst Gyu Kaku location. Not attentive at all. Mind you there was max about 4 tables in this establishment during lunch hours. 12pm- 2:00pm There was an off duty worker or boyfriend of a female staff member just in and out. Took s bit to be seated. Our actual server was great but left for lunch or a break? We waited 20 minutes to wave someone down for the check. The female staff member was more attentive to her boyfriend than customers. For the duration we were there, we saw no management or anyone in charge. Thus could be why there was minimal care from the staff. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

This is by far the WORST Gyu-Kaku location I’ve been to. Extremely horrible service, food quality, and hygiene. Our server kept throwing plates at us, like he was eager to get off from work. He also forgot some of our orders until we asked for them. The meats were not fresh at all and had weird texture and smell. Avoid this location. The one in Cupertino has so much better customer service and food.
