Great family owned place in a small town. We didn’t try gyros, but they have a variety of menu items. Service was fast and they were extremely busy. Food was also good and fries were excellent.

Great location! I had street tacos (would recommend the carnita street taco), the lamb gyro was good, very saucy. We also got the kids street tacos and chicken strips. All good! 4 entrees all in (with tip) was just under $50.

I ordered the Gyro with fries and a drink and my wife ordered the tenderloin with fries and a drink. The tenderloin is huge! This could have easily been two tenderloin sandwiches! My wife loved the sandwich!

I came here a couple of times before writing the review. Before I get to the food I want to talk about the staff and the building.
The staff is impeccable! Everyone is courteous, professional, and very welcoming. They make me want to come back. And I most definitely will.
The building is across from the park at the edge of the lake and if you sit at the window you get a stunning view of the park with the lake behind it. It had just snowed the day before my last visit and the view was beautiful.
And the food:
First tripmy partner and I each got a jumbo gyro and split large fries. It was bothe the gyro and the fries were huge and i was very satisfied with my choice. The gyro had tomato, onion, and plenty of tzatziki sauce. I always ask for extra sauce though because I love tzatziki and dip my fries in it.
Second time we went we tried a number of different things. I got the regular lamb gyro, my partner got the lamb gyro deluxe. Both were awesome. Both were awesome and my partner loved the toppings on the delux. The pita was soft and fresh.
We also got a few tacos. We are both originally from California so we have been missing authentic Mexican food since moving to Iowa. I gotta say this is the best Mexican food I have had so far in Iowa. I had the birria, chrizo, and chicken tacos. All were great and the birria came with a cup of consume which was delicious. It came with 2 salsas mild and hot. The hot wasn’t too hot but had a little kick. I love spicy food and hope they make one even hotter in the future.
We also had a 2 piece fried chicken with white meat which was a breast and wing. The fried chicken was very unique and the skin was incredibly crisp and perfectly rendered. It tasted like chicken chicharron. The chicken also came with fries and cole slaw. I thought the cut of the fries was very interesting and fun.
I would highly recommend Gyro Place to anyone looking for delicious, fresh, well made food at a fantastic price. Thus is my favorite restaurant in Iowa. I ate there today and cannot wait to come back again.

Lovely Cafe and the menu offers a variety serving Greek and Mexican food. Stopped here and enjoyed a gyro. Staff friendly and service prompt. One rec is pls ask for cucumbers with your gyro, mine was lacking. Otherwise you will find this place convenient and amicable.
