My partner and I came in on Saturday, December 20th, specifically looking for a place where we could sit at the bar, watch some games, and enjoy a few beers. The bar area itself is beautifully decorated—very much my vibe—and it immediately raised my expectations. At first, everything was going great, and I genuinely thought we had found a new favorite spot.
I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with a side, and my partner had the catfish plate with two sides. The portions were generous, and we each had a beer while eating. Also while eating, we ordered a shot each, which was also fine. It was then that I decided to order a Bahama Mama, however, we were informed that there was a drinking limit and that we were being cut off. All this happened in the span of my meal.
While the drink itself was made well, the decision to cut me off was surprising and disappointing. We were calm, respectful patrons, minding our own business, and not causing any disturbance. The sudden cutoff completely changed the tone of the experience and left a sour impression.
Although the bartender wasn’t rude, the interaction felt very transactional. There was little to no engagement or effort to enhance the experience, which is a big part of what people expect when sitting at a bar. When I asked questions about the establishment, the responses were brief and uninviting. It felt like she technically did her job, but nothing more.
Unfortunately, this lack of interaction diminished what could have been an enjoyable bar experience. You won’t get the full, welcoming bar atmosphere here that many other places offer, which is disappointing given how beautiful the bar area is. It feels like a missed opportunity, as the ambiance deserves a much better experience to match. All that beautiful decor is a waste if you can’t enjoy it.
If you are driving along some back roads that lead you to Temple GA, look for Gypsy Rabbit, you won’t be disappointed!! All of the employees seemed super nice and glad to be there. We had Jennie as our server and will be back to try the other items on the menu.
This establishment is a BAR! You can not convince me they cut people off after 1 drink and 1 shot….
The food was good! Great portions at fair prices!
I ordered wings- loved the flavor and the crispness BUT they super oily- I understand there will be grease cause they’re fried DUH!! But this was like, oil dripping down your face with a single bite. I still ate them through, and would definitely order them again. I also had a sandwich- their take on a Monte Cristo. The flavors were well thought out and it could have easily been one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had BUT it was poorly executed. Warm ham and melted cheese could have put it over the top! The sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly seasoned and just delicious!
I’d recommend this place for sure and will be back if my travels ever bring me back!
It really caught me off guard. I’ve
Never been treated that way before. We won’t be back. I never drink but to try to get out and try some new things and be treated poorly really ruined my taste in this place.
Also the Mac and cheese bites were still frozen in the middle. Hate to be petty wasn’t going to mention it but since I’m on a three drink cut off . What the heck.
