I recently visited Gwalia in Sugar Land, TX with some friends, and we had an absolutely wonderful dining experience! The service was excellent—special thanks to our server, Trusha, who was warm, attentive, and made great recommendations throughout our meal.
The food was outstanding. The daal and pulao were excellent, the veg kadai with naan was full of flavor, and the chili cheese momos were incredibly delicious. The malai kofta was truly mouthwatering—one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Their variety of sweets is impressive, and the chai was the perfect way to end the meal.
Overall, Gwalia exceeded our expectations. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Gwalia is an Indian vegetarian restaurant offering a wide variety of chaats, snacks, North Indian dishes, sandwiches, and traditional sweets. I tried the dhokla chaat, which was very average and overly sweet. However, the aloo paratha and malai kofta were good and enjoyable. The Indian buttermilk tasted quite different from the authentic version, and South Indian dishes were not available during my visit. Overall, the restaurant needs to work more on improving flavours and refining recipes to deliver a more authentic experience.

From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, rich in flavor with a perfectly balanced use of spices. Lalitha was a warm and attentive hostess who made us feel so welcome. The mithai’s are authentic, not overly sweet and truly brought back memories of India. The classy decor and cleanliness made the whole place stand out. will definitely be returning!

I stopped by Gwalia in Sugar Land and was really impressed. The place is brand new and right now they’re serving a great variety of Indian sweets and snacks. I tried the rasmalai and rasgulla.. both were fresh, rich, and full of flavor. The samosas and kachoris were delicious too.
They also have Diwali gift boxes that are beautifully decorated and make perfect presents. The staff were friendly and mentioned that a full food menu will be starting in November, so I’m definitely planning to come back.
If you’re craving authentic Indian sweets and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the spot.

The food is absolutely amazing. 100% authentic Indian taste. The Manchurian is exactly like Mumbai. The Nargisi Kofta gravy is also amazing, sightly sweet, savory and mild spice. The Amchi Mumbai Sandwich doesn’t differ from the name, giving complete justice to the name and honors the typical Mumbai Grill sandwich taste. Aloo Tikki chat is great, typical Mumbai/Delhi street food.
The ambience is amazing. And well worth the drive.

Visited during dinner hours and had to wait nearly 40 minutes. We ordered panipuri (okay), dhokla chaat (not worth trying), kachori chaat (good), manchurian momo (good), and chole kulche (average). Great presentation, but flavors were just okay, especially for what they charge.

An exceptional new addition in Sugarland area. The sweet and snack store exudes warmth and hospitality — the owners were genuinely welcoming, and the establishment was impressively well-staffed.
The selection of sweets was fresh, beautifully presented, and crafted with evident care, offering a delightful balance of texture and flavor. The savory options — particularly the samosas and kachoris — were delicious and bursting with authentic taste, though slightly on the oily side.
If the team could consider reducing the sugar content in the sweets just a touch, it would elevate an already wonderful experience to perfection. Overall, a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates quality Indian confections and snacks served with heart.

Excellent Dani puri and amristari kulcha. Dry Manchurian was also a must have for me. Tried several drinks as well including the spicy guava drink. Servers were very nice as well. Recommend giving it a try.

One of the nicest contemporary as well as elegant interior we have seen especially where we consider this as Indian fast food type or regular dine cuisine. Food quality, ambience, service, everything excels even above what you get with so-called Houston fine dine places. And very reasonably priced.
A Heaven for vegetarians like us.
