Just passing through and Guys looked promising. So glad we chanced it. What a little hidden gem. There’s a surprisingly cool patio out back. And This family is just lovely. Service was personal and kind with Deep Southern hospitality. If I had an uptight friend down from up north with me, I’d sure love to sit them here. We did not try their famous fried catfish or their Buffet, but my bride loved the grilled shrimp and even got fried corn on the cob! I had the veggie plate and gumbo. The Greens are perfect. My favorite was the fried green tomatoes with the comeback sauce. With my tea and tax, the bill was only $37. We did not sample their desserts but they sounded wonderful. Yes, they even had a fried dessert. The lovely young lady who served us recited about two dozen sides from memory. They are not written down anywhere. Same with desserts. So my only constructive criticism is to put up a simple chalkboard for the non-regulars to see the variety of sides and desserts available that day. It is is common in home cooking restaurants and it Saves time for both staff and customers. The place doesn’t look fancy, and it has a sloping gravel lot and itty bitty bathrooms. But it was a great experience and we would eat there again. So if you need your fried goodness with a hearty helping of “y’all’s” then you might just like this place as much as we did.

We ate here during our one night stay at the nearby Vaiden RV campground. Loved the small-town country ambience and friendly service. Catfish was delicious and tartar sauce excellent. The loaded baked potato was filling and yummy as well.

I got a pound of shrimp here on takeout a few weeks back. The shrimp tasted great and was cooked perfectly, and the peppered cocktail sauce was something different for me and quite frankly amazing. However, I paid 30 dollars for shrimp and was not given the butter I requested nor the corn, which was included in the meal description. I feel that if those things were unavailable that they could have at least told me. The shrimp truly was above standard, but I feel for 30 bucks plus my bare minimum tip. I shouldn’t have to find something else to eat at home because I’m still hungry. I’ve gotten the same pound of shrimp plus potatoes, corn, sausage, and boiled eggs at other establishments for the same price. I feel they could’ve done better on my order. However, I have had killer boudain at their food truck when they go to Grenada, and I also hear they have great steaks. Don’t knock it til you try it. I understand servers, waiters, waitresses, and owners all have off nights. I try to always support local. They are definitely worth a try aside from my disappointment.

Worst food I’ve had in a while. Fries were cold and limp. Fish was not crispy or seasoned well. The waitress was sweet and apologized. She said our food was rung up as a take out and sat on the shelf for 15 min. Instead of getting us new food, they put it on a plate and served it up. At least she was honest. I won’t be back.

Ordered for carry out
Asked for ketchup on one fish plate and onions and tartar sauce on the other. Didn’t get ketchup or onions. And they put tarter on both plates and also charged me for extra tarter (.69).
I asked teen if the utensils were in bag as we were going to eat while driving back to Jackson. She said yes. Got to van. No utensils. Went back in. Lady said that you have to ask for them. I told her that I did ask. She said that you have to ask when ordering…not before you leave restaurant. I also told her that my mom didn’t get her onions. The lady said what onions. I said the onions that come with it. Then she said that she can go and get me some if I still wanted them. I said it’s okay.
I also ordered a large coleslaw as it’s usually good. I asked about it because I didn’t see a large bowl or cup. She said that it was in the little bitty cups (2). I just said Oh. The slaw was brown and did not taste good. Not sure if they changed recipes or if it was old or gotten hot.
So, I rate the customer service a 2.

My Nanny wanted me to carry her out after I got off work tomorrow. I told her okay. So Friday, we came here, and ate a steak meal. And the next Friday we had a catfish plate. And both meals was great. And the workers are respectful and polite.

Slow being seated. Took over 10 mins just to get our drink order taken. Food flavor was ok at best and came out cold. We kept having to stop other waitresses just to get refills. Food is over priced. Definitely not worth $150.00 before tip. 1st and last visit from me.

My fiancee and I stopped here for dinner while driving through the area. The catfish was delicious! The greens were also really good and reminded me of my grandmother’s greens. I would recommend grabbing dinner.

The food is great! There isn’t anything I’ve tried that wasn’t delicious! Some of my top favorites are the greens and sweet potatoe casserole. Staff are always so nice and the atmosphere is good too! Great place to order from the menu or eat buffet!

Guys steakhouse is worth the stop. The cheese sticks were good, but I really enjoyed the queen ribeye. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The blackened catfish and hush puppies are also delicious.
