Guthrie’s in Raleigh was absolutely delicious. It is said to be the original before many of the other well-known chicken restaurants, and after eating there, I can see why. The chicken was top-notch, fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. Their sauce was really good, and the bread was amazing, which made the meal even better. Overall, a great spot that truly lives up to its reputation.

It was my first visit.
The service was great, and the staff were friendly.
The sauce was delicious, and the coleslaw was really good.
I think the fries would’ve been tasty, but they were very cold.
The chicken also seemed like it would’ve been better if it were hot.
Even though I ate inside the restaurant, the food was still very cold.
I hope I can try it again, but next time when it’s hot.

Super excited to try this place out! It just opened today and I was able to get some take-out. The restaurant is super clean and well organized and the staff were great. They had lots of staff working for the grand opening. We got our takeout very fast and fresh. I got their classic chicken fingers and tea. The chicken fingers were small, but tasty and the combo comes with Texas Toast and crinkle fries. I liked the toast a lot and the fries come with their signature sauce-which I wasn’t a fan of, but the fries were crispy. I would definitely eat here again.

Staff was welcoming and delivered food quickly. The chicken tenders and crinkle fries were good but nothing over the top. I truly think the Texas toast was the best part of the meal! I didn’t like the coleslaw so maybe next time I’ll be able to switch that with something else. It’s worth trying!

Got to try this for lunch, order the original box combo and sandwich for my husband..
Chicken texture is soft the breading for ME is salty..the Guthrie s sauce can’t settle down the taste of saltiness but the coleslaw did which is great and the toast.
My husband sandwiches had big bun with lettuce and sauce, he didn’t finish the bun as is too big.
Choice of drinks available, with sweet tea and unsweetened.
Parking is ample, love the idea of their drive thru which is similar to other chicken chain..
Staff is alert and nice, but got to repeat the name of my order as she can’t heard from the music at the back.
Ambience good, table is available spend 20mins from oder till we finished.

Well, today we were driving by and saw cars and people at Guthrie’s. I thought they didn’t open until tomorrow, so we turned around. Jonathan greeted us outside and informed us it was friends and family day. So, I leaned over to tell him how excited I’ve been for them to open. I’m from Alabama, and this is hands down my favorite chicken place. Kindly, Jonathan said that’s good enough—southern hospitality at its finest. We went in and got two boxes and sweet tea. It is everything I remember. The sauce is unmatched by any other chicken place. I mean, look at those crispy, golden fried chicken tenders and fries. The toast is so buttery. Obviously, I’m a big fan, but I promise if you go, you’ll understand the hype.

It was a little difficult finding the drive thru at first should be signs to direct towards the drive thru unless I missed those signs
The fries would’ve been better had they add seasoning to their fries.
The toast is a nice size and very inexpensive to get a extra piece
The slaw is decent
The sauce is good just hate the fact that the charge for extra sauces if you’re getting 5 or more tenders I think you should get at least 2 sauces ♀️
The tenders are small but good especially with the sauce.
Overall I would eat here again hopefully in the future they come out with other options for their menu it is very limited right now

We did the four piece combos. They were fine. My biggest shout-out is to the better than average fast food fries and the very nice thin breading on the chicken for not being sweet like at some places. Did not find the famous sauce all that compelling and the Texas toast was average or under. Overall sure I would get food there again but not drive a huge distance for it vs others. This location’s parking lot/drive through is also tricky so keep alert when moving through the close two way traffic.

Friendly staff delivering delicious chicken and fries! The very straightforward menu really allows them to focus on quick service and tasty food. Prices are very reasonable, and they even have buckets and trays for feeding the whole family. I highly recommend the sweet tea, which is some of the best you’ll find in the south! Fortunately, they also sell tea in gallon jugs to take home, so I could see that being a staple in my fridge.

Having tried Slim chicken, Dave’s hot chicken, , Hangry Joe’s hot chicken & a few other chicken chains, this is the mildest, golden flake tender and moist fried chicken. If you prefer spicy or hot, other chains are better suited, but Guthery’s is a great meal.
