Tonight I ordered the soup of the day, mushroom soup.
The seafood special sea bass with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce.
A glass of wine.
Chocolate chip cannolis.
In general the food is good and of high quality, and is delivered piping hot which is the way I demand it.
However, I have found that they consistently put far too much pepper in most of their dishes.
For example tonight the mushroom soup was so peppery I could hardly swallow it and it was causing me to cough a little bit and burned my throat.
My suggestion to the chef is back off on the pepper by 50% because pepper can be added by the individual as desired. But it can’t be removed.
The Sea bass special was quite delicious.
The pasta was good and the marinara sauce was good but really nothing special not much flavor.
I like that they bring warmed bread to the table.
But the olive oil that they bring was very thin and in my opinion not the greatest.
And they can add some seasonings to the olive oil, that would be an improvement.
The service is good too but sometimes things were a little slow tonight probably due to staffing issues for the holidays I don’t know.
In general

I went, last minute for something to eat to go. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by anthony (name could be wrong) with true enthusiasm. I explained that I was on my way to work, and I was ordering my lunch/dinner and it was to go. IT WAS AMAZING! The service was beyond expected, the food was….oh good lord….my mouth is watering thinking about it. I ordered the scampi with rice. 10 out of 10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We wanted to try a different restaurant and ended up here – what a great thing! Service by out server Anthony was excellent. We went to lunch and enjoyed our Bruschetta app and all the entrees were good and the tiramisu was excellent!!

The best thing about our experience was the half-off bottle of wine on Tuesday. Our first clue to walk away was the bread. It had no flavor, was dry and was served with a plastic cup of olive oil. Our second clue to get up and walk away when I ordered the primavera without peppers. The waiter said that wouldn’t be possible because the veggies came pre-packaged. One at our table still ordered it and was thoroughly disappointed….mostly peppers and onions, with one tiny piece of asparagus and broccoli. Two ordered the bolognese which was the best choice made at our table, even though it wasn’t that flavorful. The last of our foursome ordered the sea bass. The only complaint was the rice pilaf that seemed like instant rice and not fully cooked. We read such great reviews since we are in Tucson for vacation, so we were really looking forward to supporting a local restaurant instead of a chain. Next time we want Italian, we’ll go to Olive Gsrden. At least we get a salad and fresh bread.

The location of this restaurant is tucked in the back of the plaza. You can’t really see the restaurant unless you are walking around the plaza. We went there several years ago but decided to try this restaurant again. When we walked in, we didn’t see anyone working at the bar nor on the floor but once we sat down, we realized that there was only one waiter working and that made the service slow. I don’t know if that is the norm since we went on Monday. Despite the slow service, the food was good. We may go back again.

This little taste of Italy was just what we needed today to celebrate Mom’s 92nd birthday.
The food was delicious. Anthony, our waiter, was attentive, courteous, and quick. We tried the Manicotti, the Penne and Sausage, and the Pasta Primavera lunch items. All came with side salad and crunchy bread (with oil for dipping).
The Primavera dish included roasted broccoli, zucchini, tomatoes, onions, and artichokes. OUTSTANDING!
The chef gave Mom some ice cream and Anthony gave Mom a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie in honor of her birthday. Great experience.
We will definitely be back.

First time here. Food was really good but I would say Bottega Michelangelo’s is better. The waiter was great and had a great sense of humor. Very attentive. I would definitely go back.

After hiking the just less than 4 miles out of Sabino Canyon, I felt like I wanted some carbs to recharge. We stopped at Gusto for lunch and had the nicest server and the best meal. Everything was delicious, and we got four different dishes, and I can’t wait to go back. I ordered the penne with Italian sausage, and it was as good a dish as my Italian Nana could have made. The house salad and bread with dipping oil were perfect. We sat outside and shared a bottle of Pinot Grigio between the 4 of us while our 5-year-old grandson got to explore the patio. We are in town from Ohio and we will be eating there again before traveling home.

We weren’t greeted and stood at the door confused if the place was open but decided to give it a try after being greeted a couple minutes after standing. No bread offered, waiter didn’t introduce himself, no Alfredo or white sauce pastas offered. Very minimal menu vs what it reflects online. There was no music and was certainly over priced. This was a awkward lunch to say the least and my fiancée and I wish we didn’t go after she got sick an hour later.
