The service was prompt and inviting. We Dine-in. The music was bluesy classics. I loved it. The food was good and tasty. Full of flavor not salt which was such a pleasure. The chicken has a moderate heat kick. If you get the greens be sure to try the Trappeys peppers and the lousiana hot sauce. If you know, you know!

My dad’s been talking about this place since they catered it into work several months ago. Saturday evening, no wait and very fast service. There is just enough kick in the breading to keep you wanting another bite. Each item (chicken and fish) were fried flawlessly. You’ll thank me later, but go ahead and grab a LARGE Mac n Cheese. Will be coming back for more soon!

The food here is absolutely immaculate. We had a hard time deciding where to eat, but we wanted to try somewhere new and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was super vibey, and we were greeted right as we walked in. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and in a great mood, which made the experience even better. I would 100% come back to eat here again. We loved it and truly appreciate such great hospitality!

The chicken was the best ever it was juicy tasted like it was marinated. The place was clean even the workers. Prices were good the fried tomatoes were so yummy and good just wish more than 5 small slices were in there for eight plus dollars. The coleslaw should be better will not get that again. They greet you with a friendly welcoming smile. The restaurant was clean and even the floor.

**Apps are aren’t GF so avoid those and ask no bread with your meal.
I requested cole slaw but forgot to ask if it was mayo based or buttermilk. Took a couple bites and decided not to continue due to I wasn’t sure if they was dairy. (It was my fault for not asking so I left it on my plate as I’m dairy intolerant.)

Best spicy fried chicken without msg!The breading and skin on the chicken is thin and so crunchy delicious.Their coleslaw is always creamy and crunchy and the Mac n cheese is done to perfection. Highly recommend! Atmosphere is a casual hole in the wall with genuinely personable staff that deliver your food quickly.

The best fried chicken in the city and really awesome welcoming service. I bring all my friends who visit KC to this spot. I love the seasoning on the chicken itself, and the breast meat is out of the world juicy. I actually like it more than the dark meat pieces.

The BEST fried chicken in KC! (Also some of the best fried okra i’ve ever had) The service is always great, people are so kind, never have to wait long for my food, and you seat yourself. Definitely recommend coming here if you haven’t! So yummy, and very affordable!

We had the BEST experience at Gus’s today, and Amy absolutely made it unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, she was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She walked us through the menu, explained the gluten-free options (yes — gluten-free fried chicken and it was AMAZING!), and made sure we felt completely taken care of.
Not only was the food next-level delicious — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — but Amy’s attention to detail and genuine care stood out. She didn’t just serve us; she educated us and made the whole meal feel special.

I wish I could give a five star review but I can not my self and my son went in on Sunday for lunch first time there we order and when our drinks came out we noticed in my sons glass there were Ants in his drink we told the staff so they brought my 9yr old another drink and guess what it had ants in it again staff notified and they offer him another flavor third soda agin same problem… we paid full price for everything which is the other sad part the portion sizes was so small for $40 for a kids meal and two piece meal with two tiny pieces of chicken was ridiculous like it tasted good but definitely not worth the price or that experience. In th picture the chicken was small enough to sit on a piece of bread both pieces
