Luxury Chaos
I ordered the 2-piece dark meal with mac and cheese, and honestly this was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time.
First, the packaging threw me off.. they don’t even put the food in a proper container. The chicken was just tossed into a bag on a piece of parchment paper with a slice of hard white bread. It didn’t feel sanitary or appealing at all.
The chicken itself tasted old, dry, and chewy with barely any flavor. It also didn’t look appetizing, which was already a red flag before I even started eating. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn’t.
The mac and cheese looked promising when I opened it, but it was very bland and lacked flavor completely.
To make things worse, I paid extra (75 cents) for ranch and never even received it.
Overall, this experience was a huge disappointment. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but this was honestly a 0/10 for me.

The food gave me the itis and almost made me late for work. The Mac n cheese I had doubts upon seeing it butnturned out being good. It could had used a bit more cheese bit still good. The beans had a southern flare to them that I enjoyed and it was nice having the peppers in it. The chicken. Moist, crunchy, and a nice touch of spice. I really really enjoyed it. They’re food is packaged in recycled boxes which I liked to. They sell beer if you choose to dine in. There’s a decent selection but not that expansive, however there’s plenty of bars in the area.

I really don’t like leaving low reviews, especially since the restaurant did give us 50% off our order, and I do appreciate that. But the service and overall experience were simply too poor to overlook.
We placed our order at 2:25 PM, and our food did not arrive until 4:10 PM nearly two hours later. Our server walked past our table multiple times saying, “I didn’t forget you,” but it became clear the order was never put in. During that time, seven tables that arrived after us were served promptly, and three of those tables had already finished their meals and left before ours even came out.
Throughout the wait, we had no drink refills, no table clearing, and no check-ins. When the food finally arrived, there was still no follow-up, no offer of condiments nothing. It truly felt like our table was being avoided.
The food itself was good, and again, the discount was appreciated. But the service made the entire experience stressful, disappointing, and not reflective of the standard I expected.
I’m glad we aren’t big drinkers, but a second hard cider would’ve been nice!

Absolutely fantastic first visit! We ordered the half chicken with beans and mac and cheese, and every bite exceeded our expectations. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and had just the right amount of spice—it was both hearty and satisfying. The sides were delicious, especially the mac and cheese, which was creamy and comforting. What truly elevated our experience was the outstanding service—our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the meal so much that we ordered extra to take back with us to Toronto. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be returning!

A co worker treated me to lunch today and I was very very disappointed, I’ve never had Gus’s before and I should’ve just ate a pb&j. The macaroni that is being praised is horrible at best the baked beans were very basic and flavorless. The chicken I give a 3/10 idk who cooks here but they need to do better, I reimbursed my coworker cause after a couple tries I couldn’t eat it and I was starving. Wasted a perfectly good break to be broken hearted, needless to say I won’t be back at all!

Cool and eclectic with a rustic charm and classic blues playing overhead. Servers were friendly and attentive but it’s the chicken that’s the star of the show. Wow! Flavor that I can’t describe. Spicy but not lighting your mouth on fire, it’s the perfect blend of flavor and spice. Try the chicken sandwich. It’s not like anything you’ve ever had. They make it with boneless thigh I stead of breast, so its not dry and its full of flavor. Love it!

An eclectic atmosphere with a warm feeling. This is a nice brick building with a chicken motif.
I ordered a 2 piece dark Chicken plate with a drink ($16). The chicken was delicious. It was slightly sweet and that offset the spiciness of the fried chicken. The spiciness was not overpowering in any way. It only added to the flavor. It was juicy and cooked perfectly. The plate comes with baked beans and coleslaw and both were delicious.
The service was friendly and efficient. You order up at the counter and they call your name when it’s ready.
Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely. I’m not sure the next time I will be in the area, however I may have to make a trip just for this!

Use to be my favorite spot 3 years ago I’m pregnant and was craving so I decided to call in an order. Order ended up being over $60 so I had to pay over the phone with a card i planned on paying cash. I was charged an additional $.50 a side for not getting the baked beans and coleslaw. I got okra and fries instead. Waited about 30 mins went inside to claim my food and they didn’t even start it. The cashier had to reprint my order and give it to the cook. He did offer us some drinks but I was over it so I declined. Waited another 30 to 45 mins for our food and one of the orders were wrong I got all the way home and noticed I had 2 thighs and a wing when I ordered 2 legs and a wing. I called and told them it was messed up but the attitude was so strong I just decided to take a lost. The food was fried so hard it wasn’t much to eat majority of it was trashed. Will not be returning.
