Waitress Kayla was amazing and sweet, For the first time coming here the food was delicious and sweet tea was amazing, you can tell everything is hand made just by looking at it. Saw general manager on tv, decided to give Gus’ a try and definitely the best fried chicken in Birmingham! For sides we had greens and fried okra and both were seasoned to perfection! Will definitely be back! Met and talked to general manager super nice!

Quick service. Visited this location today. I visited Gus’ years ago I think in Memphis , and before they came to Birmingham. Anyway, if you like spicy, you will love the chicken. I had a two piece mixed with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The chicken has a very thin crust on it which tastes like it’s marinated in hot sauce. I prefer more breading and crust myself. The Mac and cheese was thick but needed salt in my opinion. The beans were tasty. Good visit and wasn’t busy. The cashier acted like she wanted to be at work. Just make sure your stomach can handle spicy!

Sides are room temp. The beans are good, mack and cheese is good, chicken is good, piping hot, and little spice creeps up. The greens are like grand ma made them.
