Gusano's Chicago Style Pizzeria - Joplin, MO 64801

So I ordered two pizzas to take to a party, I get to the party and try the pizza when you pick it up and it completely just flops over it is so underdone it’s terrible. So I called the place talk to the manager she said no problem they’ll replace the pizzas next time I’m up there I can pick them up she did give me free breadsticks also. So about a month later I call and place the order. my husband picked it up brought it home and no joke it’s burnt all around the edges like black (I did ask for it to be well done) but never in my dreams did I imagine the crust to be completely burnt. I can’t even believe that the cook would actually send Pizza out their door that way. I would never go back there again.

I wasn’t a fan of this food here! They’ve got a clean environment though!

I heard this place was famous for the pizza but I’m HUGE on my Italian subs.

The caesar salad was completely awful! Too salty and too much dressing on my salad.

The sub was alright, it wasn’t absolutely horrible.

I tried a piece of my step mom and dad’s pizza and didn’t like it. Too saucy and toppings were just falling off!

I don’t typically leave bad reviews, however, the service and food we received today was very subpar, especially for almost $70. So, the restaurant was not busy. We came in and we were sat at a table. The waitress stood talking to another table for at least 5-7 minutes, never even acknowledging we were waiting. After I made a comment if she was the only waitress, she then decided to come get our drink orders. We waited almost 45 minutes before we got our 2 pizzas and wings. While waiting on our pizza, we watched the lady in the back eating food with her gloves on and then sticking her hands in bags of cheese. She did this several times. She never changed her gloves or washed her hands after eating WITH HER GLOVES ON! The pizza we waited 45 minutes for wasn’t even hot. We got a deep dish Chicago pepperoni, that was so salty, it was not edible. It wasnt even a deep dish. The crust was tall, but it was not good. The waitress only came by our table once the whole time we were there. Didn’t offer refills, nothing. We literally paid $70 for this. I won’t be back. That was horrible service. I should have asked for a manager while we watched the line cook in the back shovel food into her mouth with her gloves on, but didn’t want anything else to taint the food further. If a manager sees this, you should probably address these issues with your staff.

This is our new favorite pizza joint! The ingredients are all really fresh and delicious (Joplin and Bella Vista location are consistently good). The staff was beyond helpful and accommodating, they went above and beyond! I mentioned it was a birthday in our group and Kelsey rushed us out a complimentary dessert pizza for us to take home to celebrate! Thanks so much for everything!

Absolutely love the pizza! If you like spicy food as much as I do, with a twist of something different and delicious, I highly recommend the “moosehead”. The green olives give it a unique flavor that I find delicious.

Love this place some of the best pizza in town. Great place to sit and visit with friends or catch the games. Last few times we’ve been in there the service has gone down hill considerably, this time we didn’t even get asked for drink refills and had to ask for the check. I’ll wait a couple of months and give them one more try.

I was in Joplin for training and wanted to try Gusano’s because I heard it was good.

I dined alone and was seated at a 2 top table. I got a pitcher of beer because the math made it cheaper than 2 tall mugs (you’re welcome!).

I got a small salad to start and a Chicago style single pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers. It was all FANTASTIC!

Food was pretty good my first time having deep dish pizza me personally to munch sauce after a while got tired of eating it. It wasn’t that I wasn’t hungry anymore. It’s just the same taste of tomato sauce. Kinda gets old

Card was not working during New Year’s and gave the information for later payment and was given Pizza can’t wait to enjoy this delicious pizza with my wife and kids

P.S.
Kids loved the pizza and wife is currently enjoying the chicken pesto. I tried some of both and they are absolutely elegant, the chicken pesto tastes perfectly blended, with no pungent after taste, just a perfect flavor.
