Service from Haley was genuinely warm and hospitable, you can tell the staff actually like their jobs and who can blame them with such delicious food.
Happy hour was buzzing and definitely on the louder side but did not detract from an excellent experience.
We started with the chips with speck, crème fraîche, and smoked salt, which ended up being the star of the meal. Thin, crisp, and perfectly salted, the chips were balanced beautifully with the tangy crème fraîche and savory speck. Simple but executed really well.
The poutine was a fun twist with fried gnocchi instead of fries. The texture was spot-on—crispy on the outside, soft inside—but the dish overall felt a bit too heavy. Between the cheese curds and gnocchi, it needed something to cut through the richness.
The cheeseburger was solid—smashburger-style with good seasoning. The patty was juicy and flavorful, but the edges could’ve been crispier to really shine. It’s a classic burger that checks the box for the basics, but there wasn’t anything particularly unique or memorable about it.
We also tried the Spritz Salato, which was light, refreshing, and had a nice herbal bitterness from the Amaro and sherry. It paired nicely with the snacks.
One disappointment: we were really looking forward to trying the French toast dessert we saw on their website, but unfortunately it wasn’t on the dessert menu when we visited.
Ian, our server was on point, so friendly and fun.
We ordered the shishitos, prawns and burger. Cocktails and wine list are great. Chefs kiss
I went with the happy hour halibut. The flavor didn’t disappoint — it was delicious — though I found myself wishing the portion had been a bit more generous. The Brussels sprouts had great flavor too, though they leaned a little heavy on the salt for my taste. My cocktail, on the other hand, was a standout: light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced.
All in all, a nice little break before continuing on to my next stop!
