Got some raw dough for my supper when I ordered Stromboli. Gus’s used to be great. What happened? Oh and it took them an hour to get my call in ready too. Guess I will finish cooking it at home.
Addition…there was hardly any meat in the Stromboli. It was all peppers and onions.

Inviting and friendly staff and atmosphere. The aroma of the food cooking was quite pleasant and reminded me of going to grandma’s house for a Sunday dinner. Quality and taste of the food was good. Salad bar was a little underwhelming especially because there was a sign saying “one trip only to salad bar please”. Though, I wouldn’t let that stop me from going there again for dinner 🙂

Getting your food is a little slow but it is definitely worth the wait. Gus and his family are super nice people. I love to eat there. Prices are reasonable. Food is delicious. The grilled pork chops is my favorite. Give them a try. You will be glad you did.

I’ve read through the reviews and had to check this place out myself since I’m new to the area. From the outside I wasn’t impressed. But once inside I observed that the place was clean an neat. I was greeted and served by a very nice waitress. She was very friendly and not annoying or overbearing. The Gyro and fries combo was good but a bit pricey for the quality and portion. I would say its 50 times better than a common greasy spoon joint, But a decent place to chill and deal with hunger issues. My only gripe is with the prices of traditional fixings. P.S. They also have a menu full of choices.

I placed an order to go. It was the lunch special… lasagna, garlic bread, salad and a drink. I called about 10-15 minutes before getting there. There was only one customer in restaurant . I was going to make my salad. The lettuce was brown. I waitress ask me … what’s wrong? Told her look at this lettuce. She went and got more but I think it was from the same container because it was right on the verg of turning brown. I had to wait about 15 more minutes for my order. The lasagna was so watery. No taste. The container was only half full. Just plain nasty. I had ordered extra gralic bread which I didn’t get but which I did pay for. But I’m glad I didn’t get because the bread was so hard and dry. The only good thing about the meal was the soda. The girls working was very nice. The sad thing is “Gus” the man who owns the restaurants was doing the cooking. Just shows how much that he cares about his customers. No wonder there was only one man eating in the whole entire restaurant. And this was during lunch. This isn’t the first time I was disappointed with Gus’s. I stayed away for years. This time I will stay away for every. High price also for this slop. So sad. Don’t waste your time, your money. Save your taste buds and stomach.

We enjoy Gus’s for a quiet family restaurant experience. The food is good, portions are generous, service is friendly. The salad bar is adequate and they usually have to make the coffee for us so it’s always fresh. I especially enjoy the calzone although they have a fairly large and diverse menu.

I guess with ordering food for pick up is the way to go. Reading these comments would make me think twice about going but I have never had an issue with the food or service but again that could be because we place carry out. We ordered a large meat lovers pizza and garlic bread and paid $18, so I personally don’t think the cost is bad.

Food is pretty good, but the prices are really up there. If you get an order to go be sure to double check it. We ordered 2 different types of strombolies and later realized they gave them to us both the same. Overall was pretty disappointed. We probably won’t be returning.

Typically, I’d be excited to stumble upon a Mom and Pop operation such as this, but my hopes were dashed fairly quickly. I can give you the agonizingly long winded review, but it’s not worth my time. The spaghetti came baked with no sauce, we we’re charged for water and the “calzone” was nothing more than a pizza folded in half and cut into strips. Maybe they had an off day, but the service was terrible slow and we were helped on two occasions by two different people in an hour’s time. I’m going to leave it at that as not to sound intentionally disparaging; just the facts.

Don’t come here unless you want to be fully disappointed. We should have been alarmed when there wasn’t any other customers in the restaurant but figured hey, at least we will get fast service… Wrong! The waitress (who without a doubt was under of the influence of something) got our drink orders within a few minutes. The drinks didn’t come out for at least 20 min, which we had to remind another waitress for them. We heard her say she needed a “smoke break” so I guess that’s why she didn’t bring them herself. She then got our order. After an hour we asked how much longer. We heard her ask the cook if our order was done and we hear him say, “what order?” So then they proceed to start on our order. We asked “you just started on the order? (Rhetorical).
“It will be out in a few minutes.” Yeah right. We decided it was best just to go to chick fil and call it a night. And let me remind you we were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time. The owner, Gus himself was also there, sitting. Most definitely won’t be coming back.
