The cheeseburger was very delicious. Our server was very nice and kept us happy. The cheesecake was excellent! Definitely recommend!

I love this place, it’s a throwback to the 80’s! They are extremely consistent in their food quality, it’s a local family owned business, waitstaff are experienced adults, and I get value for my money.

Everything and everyone in the establishment is “Old school” and dated and that’s OK w/ me. I want to sit down, have a solid meal, friendly dining experience, and get some value for my dollar. There are plenty of newer, modern and fancier places around, this is NOT one of those places. Gus & George’s is what those of us in our 40’s, 50’s and 60’s + remember fondly and get a craving for.
Dishes are standard classics, presented simply, served on full platters and presented consistently w/ ingredients the staff are experts at preparing.

I’m a fan of the Romanian steak, I know to slice it across the grain to enjoy the tenderness, it’s an old dish I can only get in my own kitchen nowadays or when I visit this classic restaurant.

Gus & George’s manage to keep prices fair and portions large in today’s economy and in my opinion prepare homestyle shoe string French Fries righteously

I was part of a large group. We only had one waitress. Lisa, but she did an awesome job for the entire group and didn’t miss a beat, the food was great. I only got the mushroom burger but it was delicious, and I heard no complaints from the others in the group, service and atmosphere were great. I would highly recommend this restaurant, thank you, Daryl priest

We had a birthday party here of around 30 people and it was a wonderful experience. They let me come in early to decorate, our server was great, food was good, and the banquet area worked perfectly for our event. Everything moved smoothly from drinks to salads and appetizers to meals to boxes and checks and clean up. I would definitely recommend for large parties!

Today was the first time I have been to this restaurant but it will definitely not be the last. From the moment we entered to the moment we left we received 10 STAR service from everyone especially our waitress Lisa. She was so attentive and friendly and knew the menu like the back of her hand. The entrees we chose were so fresh and delicious and everything was made to perfection. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant and telling everyone about it who doesn’t already know. Thank you Lisa for making our first time experience one we will remember; we will definitely be back to see you again soon 🙂

I’m not sure how this place has 4.5 stars. For starters, we had water-filled fried mushrooms. The clam chowder is more like a tomato-based vegetable soup with a small amount of clams. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. I’m certain it was pre-frozen and the spaghetti was nothing to write home about. Albeit, our waitress was extremely nice and helpful.

I use to eat here a few times a year about 5+ years ago. The food and service was always great. A Friend and I had lunch today and it was horrible! So disappointed, the salad looked like it came out of a pre mixed bagged salad mix from the grocery store. Iceberg lettuce, carrots and horrible soggy tomatoes thrown on top. My friend ordered the lasagna special with meat sauce. She didn’t eat it sauce was orange and horrible. For bread they put 2 slices of white “loaf sandwich bread” no Italian or good bread in the basket with crackers my chicken parm was ok but the marinara sauce is not made there per the waitress tasted like Ragu, etc. the ONLY POSITIVE was the service was great! Sorry to see this restaurant has gone down to this level, the manager or owners should be embarrassed. Never go back.

I have seen this restaurant for years and never came in until this past Sunday. We were celebrating one of our church family birthdays. The service was over the top great. Very helpful. My sister had to leave early to go to work ,so she wasn’t going to order. The server said I can take care of that. She took our orders ran my sister’s to the back and out came a perfectly cooked bacon cheese burger with the best fries ever. The side salad was one of the freshest that I have had with homemade ranch. I ordered the delmonico steak with shrimp and a side of spaghetti. Steak cooked and tasted perfect. The spaghetti was very good. Will I be back yes!

I have to give a mixed review. The house salad, Delmonico steak and fried shrimp were all excellent – the steak was of good quality and cooked exactly how I wanted it, and the shrimp were fresh, plump and tasty. The service was top notch, and the gentleman at the host / cashier stand was very friendly and welcoming. On the other hand, the spaghetti with meat sauce was disappointing (although I have come to expect that here in Hampton Roads pasta will not be cooked al dente and red sauce will not be the good stuff that I’m used to from the Northeastern US so I guess I can’t fault them too much), there was Wonder Bread in the bread / cracker basket, and the lighting in there is that terrible bright energy-saving stuff, making what could be a really nice atmosphere a little cold and sterile.

I have not eaten here since I was in middle school, but I made homemade sauce tonight and told my mom it reminded me of this place. I had such great childhood memories here and I still remember your spagetti and fried flounder. 5 stars for my great memories. I am in FL now, but now I need to do a roadtrip. Happy ya’ll still open!
